If you’re booking the St. Louis Cemetery #1 tour, ask for Will. Seriously. He’s an incredible guide, the kind who makes history feel alive instead of something you’re just listening to. His storytelling is sharp, engaging, and full of those fascinating details you’d never discover on your own. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does, and that energy makes the whole experience feel personal rather than scripted. He strikes the perfect balance between history, culture, and local insight, with just the right touch of humour. The cemetery is already powerful and atmospheric, but Will gives it real depth and meaning. One of the absolute highlights of our time in New Orleans. Highly recommend.

Visitor notes
AMAZING tour and worth the visit! Taylor was super educated and had a great sense of humor. Also, customer service was top notch. We missed our initial tour and they were able to quickly reschedule us for later that afternoon. Went in June, it is hot so dress for the weather. But there are shade tents and mist areas throughout the tour that help give you a break from the heat. Thanks so much yall from NC!
If you’re visiting New Orleans, the Cemetery #1 tour is an absolute must! This was such a fascinating and unique experience. The history, architecture, and stories behind the tombs were incredible, and we learned so much about the city’s rich culture and traditions. What truly made the tour special was our guide, Zelda. She was knowledgeable, engaging, and an amazing storyteller. Her passion for the history of the cemetery and New Orleans really brought everything to life. Every stop had an interesting story, and she kept the group entertained from beginning to end. If you’re looking for a tour that is both educational and entertaining, this is it. Such a cool experience, and one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend—and if you get Zelda as your guide, you’re in for a treat!
The tour was fantastic. I would highly recommend. It was fascinating to learn all about the history of burials in New Orleans and Richard was absolutely outstanding. He made the whole tour fun and fascinating if you can request Richard for a tour do so.
We did this on the last day of my birthday trip and it was the best. Mary was AMAZING. She was so fun to listen to and SO knowledgeable. We learned a lot and the walk was not bad and there were shaded areas to stand in the blazing sun. Worth every penny and I would advise to others not to skip this tour.
We took our tour yesterday and it was sweltering hot but Taylor did a fantastic job of keeping us entertained while filling us with knowledge of the history behind St Louis Cemetery no 1. I walked away from his tour with so much new information and our group was so happy we chose to do it. Can’t recommend Taylor as a tour guide enjoined, he was amazing!!!
This was our favorite experience in New Orleans. I had been looking forward to this for months, but we arrived in the city during a weeklong downpour. Stopping in the fabulous tour desk/museum/gift shop, we asked how likely a tour would be cancelled due to weather the next day. They offered to switch our tickets to a tour starting in 15 minutes, and we beat the weather! The tour was fascinating and informative. Zelda was amazing as a guide! I think it was the right amount of time and the right amount of history. Then we headed back to the depot, where we spent a lot of money in the gift shop! Bonus that this depot is also a stop on the Hop-On Hop-Off this tour so we spent the rest of the morning doing the loop! Fabulous experience for a history lover!
I can't believe we almost skipped this! Our tour guide, Zelda, was amazing. She was funny and knowledgeable. She even took time and asked my daughter some questions to keep her engaged. As a result, my 12 year old loved this and it was in her top 3 NOLA experiences. Highly recommend this experience to everyone.
