Just go. It’s $50 per person or $60 if you add the zoo, which is about 20 minutes away. I believe they said you can use the same ticket to come back the next day. This isn’t the best aquarium, but it’s one of the most immersive I’ve been to, which made it great. They have live bugs on display, a walk-through butterfly atrium, a buoy exhibit, a huge terrarium with birds flying all around you, fish tanks, a petting area with stingrays and sharks, large viewing areas for turtles, sharks, and jellyfish, and they even serve bugs to eat.

I'm not super fond of bugs, but they did a great job of explaining how important insects are. I really loved the butterfly exhibit! The aquarium was amazing too! Definitely worth the money.

First thing.. it’s EXPENSIVE.. so plan for that.. but the kids loved it. The butterfly exhibit was so beautiful. You can touch the stingrays, they have a virtual pod that’s interactive but cost extra. Over all it was good but it’s not that much to see and do for the prices they are charging.

What a wonderful aquarium. My Granddaughter really enjoyed the insect and butterfly garden. The The guy working in the butterfly garden. His named started with a C i think. Was super knowledgeable. Answered so many questions and was so friendly to everyone. He made them feel invited and didn't mind answering our questions. You can tell he thoroughly enjoyed working there. He totally made our day, well him and the penguins.

The ticket prices seemed a little high at first, but it was so worth it both for the aquarium itself but also the insectarium. We had a wonderful time learning and exploring. The butterfly garden was a special highlight, it was absolutely magical. Worth every penny!

Wonderful aquarium with beautiful indoor jungle and tons of cool animals. My conference had a private event here and it was so wonderful to explore this place. Will definitely be back here next time I’m in town

We absolutely loved the aquarium; it was beautiful and such an enjoyable experience for the kids. There was so much to see and do, and we truly enjoyed every part of it. It took us about 3 hours to go through everything at a relaxed pace, including the insectarium and the Amazon rainforest exhibit. Everything was well done and really impressive. What made it even better is that the fun doesn’t end when you leave the aquarium. You can continue your day right outside…walk along the Riverwalk, hop on the ferry, visit the outlet mall, or head into the French Quarter. I highly recommend it for a family trip!
