Lovely hidden gem that gives glimpses into what natural Florida looked like. Tons of flora and fauna. This place has canoe tours, evening walks, educational programs and center. Restrooms, picnic tables, some shade, some pavilions along a lovely boardwalk with limited seating (rockers). A quiet easy nature walk that is handicapped accessible!

I visited Grassy Waters Preserve in West Palm Beach, and it was a peaceful and refreshing experience. The area felt very natural, with boardwalks and trails that let you walk through the wetlands without disturbing the environment. It was quiet, and I enjoyed being surrounded by open water, trees, and wildlife. During my visit, I saw different birds and other small wildlife, which made the walk more interesting. The paths were easy to follow, and the setting felt calm and uncrowded. It’s a good place if you enjoy nature and want some time away from busy areas. Overall, it was a simple but enjoyable outdoor experience in a very natural environment.
Very nice hike I am told it is very hot in the summertime. I will take the advice and avoid it in the hotter months. Very well constructed Boardwalk through the marshes. We were able to see a huge alligator sunning himself on a tree log that had fallen. He was absolutely magnificent. Other than a single turtle also sending himself and Fellow birds there was not much wildlife to be had. I would definitely go back again, possibly in the spring while it’s still remains cooler under the tree canopy.
An awesome “free” outdoor space to visit with an extensive boardwalk over marshland, with multiple lookouts. A great place to learn more about local habitat and wildlife, the volunteer we met was very informative. There is also opportunity to rent a canoe to use and explore the water.
You can visit this place, but it didn’t impress me very much. To be honest, I expected to see more interesting wildlife and nature. During our walk we only saw a couple of squirrels, one alligator, and a few ducks. Most of the area is basically marshland, and the scenery feels quite repetitive. Maybe we just didn’t come at the best time to see animals. There is a kayak rental near the entrance, but it wasn’t operating during our visit. There was also no schedule or information about the opening hours, so it was unclear whether it was working at all. Overall, it’s okay for a short walk, but my expectations were a bit higher.
Fantastic place! So beautiful! Great boardwalk. Didn't see alligators or many birds but was so peaceful.
Oh what a beautiful place. Such a lovely and peaceful way to spend the weekend with family and friends.
Such a peaceful hidden gem in Palm Beach County. The boardwalk trails through the wetlands are beautiful, well maintained, and perfect for a relaxing walk while enjoying nature and wildlife. We saw birds, turtles, and even a few gators from a safe distance. The nature center staff and volunteers were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They took time to explain the exhibits and answer questions, which made the visit even more enjoyable. I also loved the shaded rest areas and rocking chairs along the trail such a nice touch. Best part is that it’s completely free and never feels overly crowded. Great place for families, kids, photographers, or anyone wanting a quiet escape outdoors. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the West Palm Beach area.
