Skirting World

Very disappointing experience. The architraves we received were of an extremely poor standard, with large missing knots on the visible face, several dents and cracks, and a very rough machined finish, as though they had been cut with blunt blades. The surface was far too rough to achieve a professional painted finish. In all our years in the trade, we have never come across architraves of such poor quality. Our impression was that we had been sent defective or rejected stock rather than products ready for installation. Unfortunately, a replacement was not a viable option, as the lead time was too long for our installation programme. To avoid delaying our client, we had to source replacement architraves elsewhere. To Skirting World’s credit, they collected the defective architraves and issued a full refund. However, the experience meant we chose not to use Skirting World for future orders.

The quality of the items supplied was completely unacceptable. The finish was terrible, requiring extensive sanding and work to try and correct it, and one length arrived totally damaged and unusable. It took far too long just to receive a response to my complaint. During that entire time, there was absolutely no focus on correcting the issue or listening to what I actually needed. I tried to be reasonable and proposed a fair compromise—simply asking for a refund for the one unusable length and the price difference between "unprimed" and "undercoated" for the rest of the order. This didn't even cover the massive amount of labor needed to sand and undercoat them myself, but I thought it was a fair ask considering the finish wasn't undercoated or even primed at all. Instead, my suggestion was completely ignored, and they tried to force an unwanted replacement delivery on me long after my project had to move on. I never received a satisfying solution to the problem. I had to fix the poor finish myself and source the unusable and missing lengths from another supplier just to finish the job. They deliver defective goods, offer zero helpful customer service, and leave you to fix their mistakes yourself. UPDATE: Contacted them as suggested here but nothing done, useless don't waste your time

I found the ordering process fairly straightforward and the website easy to use. As a total DIY novice I found the choice of options about how the wood could arrive a bit overwhelming and maybe a guide next to the drop down would be helpful. I got a very detailed email about the process of creating my order and the steps involved. I asked to be informed when the delivery driver was 10 minutes away to make sure I was at the property, but got a call after he’d already arrived and dropped the order on my drive. I also think the packaging of the order could have been much more helpfully labelled - as there was no info about what was what on the outside. And sorting the boards into specific piles for where they needed to go took a bit of time. Overall a positive experience still and would recommend cus the choice of options and cost was good.

Purchased a deep Victorian style skirting board for a Victorian house we are renovating. Very pleased with the product, it really enhances the hallway now. Would recommend and would use again.

Good delivery (although expensive) brilliant communication via email and also by delivery driver. However, product is absolutely awful! Top cut seems to be okay, but the grooves are now going to need attention, if fixable at all, or another purchase. I can't say I'll be back.

To be honest. Can't complain. Ordered and arrived in good time. Communication throughout the wait and delivery process was excellent. The product itself was exactly what I ordered. The price, inclusive of delivery was really competitive. Only thing I could gripe about is when the order was despatched I got 3 texts and 3 emails within an hour all saying the same thing. Would buy from here again and would recommend them completely.

I placed my order on the phone as I had questions about measuring the correct size. James was more than happy to help me order the correct skirting which was delivered promptly. Highly recommend Skirting World and their great products which are excellent value for money.

Firstly I cannot fault this company, or it's employees. The MDF skirting, window boards and architrave arrived safely. I was kept up to date at all stages. I will definitely be ordering more, as I'm doing one room at a time.
