The Worcester Art Museum has done an extraordinary job creating a home worthy of the Higgins collection of armor. The whole collection is housed in a wing consisting of two large rooms. The first is a showcase that delights and welcomes the guest and takes 20-30 minutes to take in everything. But one could spend hours there. The second room, the open storage, could take a lifetime to explore. The way the museum laid out so many pieces with so much care and display is appreciated. Additionally, there are multiple tablets to read and explore each piece by label. There is also a QR code where one can read about each numbered piece in an easy to use website. I appreciated this museum being in Worcester, but strongly disliked the previous version of the wing displaying the armor for the politics, overly mature content not suitable for children, and small number of armor items displayed. This fixes all that. We were members of Higgins Armory for almost two decades before it closed, bringing our kids at least once a month. This brings the beloved Higgins Armory experience back to Worcester. I brought my teenage and adult children back, and I see young children enjoying it here, too. Thank you!

This is a great museum with an impressive collection of armor. I visited it before the renovation, and I've heard they've since expanded the exhibition to display even more armors. It's absolutely worth a visit.

Just loved our visit! This museum has very high quality art and not a lot of "filler" works like some of the larger city museums I've been to. For European art, they have a good example of every major artist - it was so fun discovering them all. Loved the Monets, and so cool to see Brughel the elder and the younger side by side. Have never seen such an extensive collection of armor, even in Europe. Cozy museum - not to big, not too small. Will be back soon.

This is the second time me and my husband have come here and this time was a lot better! We came here last winter and a lot of the exhibits were empty so we were pleased to see how full it was this time. I especially loved the armor section where you could try on helmets and hold some swords! Overall we had a great time with all the different areas to look at!

Great hidden treasure in Worcester. They incorporated the Higgins Armory very nicely into their collection...you can try on a knight's helmet! The artwork there spans centuries and you'll need a few hours there to soak it in. Nice staff, cool gifts hope, and tons of parking adjacent.

I can't put into words how wonderful our wedding was at the WAM. Julie was AMAZING, so helpful, walked us through everything and was a fantastic day of coordinator. She was my hero helping my bridesmaid bustle my dress! Kelly was equally great (my husband worked with her more but I wanted to make sure she was mentioned!). Overall as a wedding space, it is so gorgeous. So many people said it was like a fairytale wedding, and I agree. We purchased an uplighting package through a separate vendor, which is something I would recommend if available. Having the ceremony + reception in one place was very convenient and seamless as guests were able to walk around the galleries while they waited for dinner to start. We had the max allowed on the first floor, 50 guests, and it felt comfortably full. The dance floor is situated next to the bar, a feature I really liked as it kept people on the dance floor or at least all in the same area after dinner was over. Overall I cannot imagine having our wedding anywhere else, it is such a special place.

We went for the Flora in Winter exhibit that has local floral artists design an arrangement to accompany a select piece of the artwork. It is always a pleasure to see this exhibit and the docents were outstanding as usual. The Higgins armory display room is open and is very well executed. This is a great museum with a number of very good local restaurants close by to make a great afternoon visit.

22$ bucks the fee was justified! Great pieces to admire and cool war swords and armors! Definitely a place to check it out! They have great amenities like clean bathrooms and gift shops with surprisingly good prices. It’s definitely a place to visit and support if you are arround
