The Chateau Restaurant Waltham

This was my first time in Boston, visiting from Florida. We stumbled upon Chateau for dinner, but honestly, it didn't blow me away. The service and Italian vibe were okay, but the food was a mixed bag. The calamari was fantastic—crispy and the tomato sauce was amazing—but our trio entree was pretty disappointing. The veal just wasn't cooked right. It was lukewarm, not crispy, and a bit tough. The recipe had a lot of flavor, but the execution was off. The same went for the Alfredo pasta and fried ravioli. The bread basket? Not toasted or crunchy at all. It felt like plain old wonderbread straight from the bag. On the bright side, the cookie sundae was awesome, so we left feeling somewhat satisfied in the end. P.S. You're an Italian restaurant, play some Italian music! There was no music at all.

We went today for lunch with family on Labor Day weekend, and it was such a wonderful experience! The surroundings were peaceful inside and we were lucky to have our lovely waitress, Hannah, who made everything even better. We started with warm bread and butter—so soft and delicious! Later, we found out they bake their own bread, and it’s served complimentary. ❤️ For our meal, we ordered chicken piccata, lasagna, and fettuccine Alfredo with fried chicken. Every dish was absolutely relishable—every bite was packed with flavor. ❤️ The kids were also kept entertained with drawing sheets, tic-tac-toe, and word search puzzles, which they really enjoyed. As a special Labor Day treat, we also received two complimentary kids’ meals, which we ordered to take home. Such a thoughtful gesture! Ended our lunch with ice cream Sundae. It was just so yum!! It was my first visit to Chateau, and I absolutely loved it. Can’t wait to be back again! ❤️❤️❤️

Lunch for 4 here on a Tuesday. Two sandwiches, one personal pizza, one Italian dish (pasta alla Norma with eggplant). Everyone enjoyed their meal, though none of the dishes were distinctive. Our waitress was friendly and generally prompt but forgot a few requests, which she promptly rectified when reminded. Our booth was very comfortable and clean. Traditional decor. All in all an agreeable experience.

We chose the Chateau to celebrate my Uncle’s 90th birthday. We were a party of 10 arrival time was 12:30. Our waitress (sadly forgot her name) could not have been more accommodating. She let us have our time in ordering. She did not rush us and brought out the birthday cake with candles glowing and served it to us with grace. My Uncle entertained us with stories of his you and we did not end up leaving the restaurant until 4:30. No one attempted to rush us out even though the table for 10 may have been needed. I applaud this establishment for making our family feel welcomed and appreciated something some restaurants forget about. Bravo to the Chateau and a great waitress. She is blonde with black glasses

I ordered 4 meatballs. Thats it. 4 meatballs. And it was over $17. The sauce was gross. The place has steadily declined over the past 5-6 years. What a fall from grace. Update 3/29/26: the manager never responded to my emails regarding the gift card he offered

Great service. Just ok food. Very good portion sizes. The shrimp scampi was too sour and not enough garlic. But it made up for it with the large portion of linguini and shrimp. The trio with ravioli and fettuccini was ok. The mussels were very good with the garlic bread. Overall, I’d come just for the fantastic service and great portions.

We had my Father in law celebration of life here with approx 40 family members and the service and food were excellent. They were extremely helpful and made the entire event smooth and memorable for everyone.

Dined here as part of a group. The service was unbeatable. No mistakes in our orders. Generous portions. Great tasting. Attentive staff. Good value. I highly recommend stopping in for a meal if you're nearby.
