Mission Point Lighthouse

Acessible-ish. Handicap parking spots, paved walk. Once you got to the beach overlook it was hard to navigate into the lighthouse front yard. Have to go onto the grass to see the water and not be in the way. Easier for electric wheelchairs. Has a replica house with accessible, ramped path. Shop doesn't carry water. Super views of the water and cooler than town (lovely breeze).

My husband and I had been there before, but our adult son had not. So we made the trip early spring 5-7-26 when we were in the Traverse City area. Worth the short drive, and $8.00 admission fee to the lighthouse. Nice grounds and access to the beach. Sandy not rocky. Little gift shop there as well.

Beautiful spot at the tip of Mission Peninsula with a surprisingly long sandy beach. $8 to be able to walk to the top of the lighthouse, which I do recommend.

Incredible winter views! The frozen lake and the snowy beach are breathtaking. If you love the snow, you have to check this place out. It’s a long drive, but the scenery is 10/10

The water was very low so we were able to walk out and look for rocks. It started to rain and we saw a rainbow! The lighthouse is pretty as well. Nice place to come check out and look for rocks 😊

Cute place to go for a small walk. Going up the lighthouse costs $8 (September 2025). We walked around the beach and hang out for a little while. There are some trails nearby but we didn't get to do any of them.

I had a very wonderful experience here. The lighthouse in and of itself is such a historical little gem. It's well kept up. The staff was so warm and friendly. And its was absolutely worth the $8 to go to the top. More so because of the fascinating history of Sarah Lane in my opinion. I really enjoyed learning about her. I would definitely recommend a trip here
