Didn't have time to go through the Museum part but purchased a few items from the gift shop. They have hot sauce and seasoning in glass grenades! The General's Hot Sauce is in the shape of pineapple grenades with all types of flavors from "Danger Close" to "Atomic Balsamic." Also check out the black and white images in the Women's bathroom! They are images of a wedding with a huge wedding π!

Visitor notes
This is Anthony awesome stop if you are a history buff. The war memorabilia and tributes to the people who served from the area is great. Staff was very friendly and informative. This is a self guided museum so you are able to wander around at take it all in. This definitely woth your time. Hope you all enjoy your visit.
What a well curated museum! Staff are friendly and helpful! The museum has as its centerpiece a P-38 Lightning, impressive in and of itself! This mueseum is great for the family! Interactive exhibits (plane spotting/mock radar stations/memorial wall). If you are interested in Aviation WW2 History this museum is top notch in the Midwest! A throwback to where uncommon valor was common virtue! Thank You Richard Bong Staff!
4 stars due to size only. Otherwise 5 stars content. They have stuff I had not seen elsewhere. Well worth the stop. They were hosting an event I didn't know was happening, so keep an eye on their schedule for additional reasons to stop. I added a few photos.
Dear Museum Staff, We would like to sincerely thank you for sending the tags. We were very pleasantly surprised to receive the package because we had already forgotten that we ordered them during our visit in August. For our son, it was a real joy and a wonderful surprise. He was very happy when we opened the envelope. Moments like this truly stay in memory. Thank you for your attention, care, and for completing the order despite having to replace the equipment. We truly appreciate it. Sincerely, Guni
Fantastic displays and very informative!
Very cool military museum mostly dedicated to the life of Richard Bong, an Army Air Forces major and Medal of Honor recipient during WWII. He is credited with shooting down a record 40 Japanese aircraft, all with the Lockheed P-38. He died test piloting a jet fighter shortly before the war ended. There are many monuments, streets, bridges, etc..named in his honor. This is a very nice military museum. There are exhibits of other wars with great exhibits.
What a lovely and moving memorial to those who served. There's even an airplane to examine! The exhibits include meaningful diversity, as well as educational information about Hmong, Vietnamese, and other people affected by 20th century wars. I'm glad we went.
