It is an old grand railroad station. Realky need more signs as I was lost. A gentleman from the historical society guided me to the first exhibit of the imagration of MN and some art works. After turning around several. times I found the stairs to the railroad museum. WOW! Just amazing collection of engines and cars. Historical plaques and phone app for information. An HO layout of the area of Duluth is iin the center. The whole thing is surrroundedd by the orginal town buildings as were visited 'by patrons years ago. A train ride is also available. Gift shop and old time ice cream parlor even make it more enticing for alkl ages. As you exit an area is set asside to honour Minnesota's military and Metal of Honor recipients. Allow a couple if hours to take itr all in. Paid parking.

Visitor notes
We took the train ride and did the tour and my son was in heaven!!!! It is such a nice e museum with so much to see compared to any other train museum I have been to. Recommend going there if you have a train lover on your hands
Drove an hour back to our home town to take our girls here for their bday stuff they choose to do. They had Soo much fun. So much history. This place was fun. We spent 2 1/2 hours. Highly recommend visiting this place.
My family and I had an amazing time at the Historic Union Depot in Duluth, Mn. We have wanted to go in the past and we finally were able to visit. Thomas the Train happened to be there that weekend so there was several additional activities for the children to partake in. The facility gives you a good feel for what it was like in the past and the exhibits were well put together. I would definitely recommend stopping in and going for a train ride! Very cool place to go in Duluth. Lots of great exhibits as well.
If you love Trains, and learning about local History, The Union Depot is a must stop. Plan on spending a couple of hours looking @ all the trains, and exhibits though to really enjoy the whole experience. 🙂
The depot itself is impressive; the railroad museum and its well-preserved collection is incredible. Several other groups use the depot, each contributing to the building's character and usefulness. Definitely worth the visit and the price of admission!
Cool train ride along the north shore. Train had a beverage and snack car, a first-class car with 360° clear dome roof. It was a relaxing and informational ride.
