This park is a very big, spectacular well maintained green lung of the city. We only walked a very small part of the park . We did not visit the zoo. We entered with an out-of-state car and payed $5

Visitor notes
Visited the zoo for their Eggstravaganza event and we loved it! The zoo animals were well taken care of and their habitats were clean and spacious. The staff clearly loved the animals, were welcoming, friendly and had such great info to share with everyone. The park itself is stunning. Definitely looking for membership for the year!
HIGHLY recommend! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, taking their time to really give insight on the individual animals. The best part is all animals are rescued from illegal pet situations or rehabilitated for medical reasons.
Great walk in the Zoo. Helpful staff, fair price, great selection of animals. Sad to see some of the animals showing signs of caged existence but they are cared for very well. My 6 yr old Grandson loved the day exploring at the Zoo and playing on the huge play scape.
Great zoo in the heart of Forest Park. Haven’t been to the park since I was a kid. Now with my own little one we decided to check it out. Surprised at how big it was and a great variety of animals. They all look well cared for and habitats were clean. I also liked that each animal has their person story, which I noticed many were rehabilitated. Really nice to see animals getting a second chance and being cared for. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend checking it out, especially with little ones!
I had a lovely time visiting the Zoo in Forest Park and Education Center. The grounds were clean and easy to navigate, and the staff were warm and helpful throughout my visit. I especially enjoyed seeing the variety of animals and learning more about their habitats and care. There was a short wait to get in, but it moved quickly and didn’t affect the experience. Overall, it’s a great spot for a relaxed weekday outing, and I’d happily return.
Zoo was fun, people INSIDE THE ZOO were great. Needs some updating and maintenance. Asked a couple workers which was the zoo was and they sent me and the young man I work with in the opposite direction so it took us like fifteen extra minutes to go around the wrong way to get to the zoo. The person at the entrance to forest park got mad because I gave her a bigger type of bill. Really dampened the happiness and fun I thought we were going to have. Animals are awesome though or I would’ve given one star.
I had such a fun afternoon exploring this place, and it is a perfect spot for families because it feels very cozy and easy to walk around. I loved seeing all the different animals like the camels, monkeys, and even the colorful birds, and everything is close enough that even little kids won't get tired of walking. The staff is clearly very passionate about the animals and they do a great job with the educational exhibits that teach you about wildlife and how to protect it. There are plenty of shady spots to sit down and relax, and the whole area is tucked away in a beautiful park that makes it feel like a quiet escape from the city. It’s a very hands-on and friendly environment where you can get a closer look at the animals than at many larger zoos, making it a really special experience for a casual day out.
