Hillsdale Shopping Center

Overall solid mall with plenty of options for food, shopping, and even parking. Consistently clean and safe. However on Fri 7/3 around 220pm, an employee began aggressively dusting the second floor rails (including the bottom portion near the floor). Large dust balls began falling towards my family while we were trying to eat Wetzel‘s Pretzels on the ground floor. Perhaps aggressive dusting can be done on slower times and days?

My family has come here a few times from Sacramento to check out the VinFast showroom. The mall is lively and trendy, with many dining options in the food court and individual restaurants. Yes, there are EV charging ports in the parking structure, as well as an Electrify America charging station in a corner of the mall.

I haven’t been to a mall since I was a child, and this one is a great example of a top-notch mall. If you enjoy spending the day shopping and eating in a single large space with a lively atmosphere and glass elevators, this is the place for you. Don’t forget to check out the Lego store while you’re there!

The Meet & Greet Bluey & Bingo event was awesome. Only negative was no shade when you got closer to the front of the line. No vendors or staff offering free water to those waiting in the heat. Otherwise, a great event. Also the meet & greet with Jack Skellington was awesome!!! Sally appearing too was an unexpected and happy surprise. Looking forward to the next meet & greet. My daughter loves these!

The newer, outdoor part of the mall is lively and beautifully constructed with ample seating and the requisite fountain and sculptures. Plenty of fun food options with indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor part of the mall is more basic and forgettable with the same old stores you see at every mall across America. The food court, which is the anchor that connects the new mall and the old mall, is expansive and inviting with colorful varied seating and decent upscale fast food choices. Very clean and chill on a Saturday July afternoon.

Two private security guards, who appear to be around 50+ years old and approximately 5'2" and 5'5" in height, this review is regarding them. I have been coming to Hillsdale Shopping Center for many years. For the last 2 years, I have been facing issues with these two private security guards. I have mostly seen them at the food court. Whenever I come to Hillsdale Shopping Center, they start following me and keep staring at me for as long as I am there (1–2 hours, etc.). When I am about to leave, they follow me to the parking lot and remain there, continuing to stare at me while I am sitting in my car. They do this every time I visit this place. They have also asked cleaning staff at the food court to inform them when they see me, and then they come and continue following and staring at me. I am surprised why they are doing this. I have never engaged in any activity that would require them to follow and stare at me like this for such a long time. I do not have any criminal record. I am a well-educated, respected and responsible American citizen and have been working in a white-collar job for a long time. I spend money every time I visit this place. It feels like harassment of innocent people. I do not know whether they are being trained this way, instructed by someone, or acting on their own intentionally. If they are doing this to me, they may be doing this to others as well, and it may be happening in other shopping centers too. This is mental harassment.

The shopping mall is a nice place to hang out with friends and family. Most of the time it’s not crowded. There are always some shops not in business every time I visit so it gives me a not-full feeling, as I’m used to the fact that all shops are opened every single day when I was in Asia (so active even on public holidays, and those are the time they get the most customers, always crowded) and Canada (except on public holidays, the Canadians close the entire mall). There are a lot of fun shops and restaurants to enjoy in the dining terrace.

So glad that this shopping mall was renovated over the past few years. The new shopping areas are clean and beautifully designed, including a large indoor food court area that’s significantly better than before, along with several new restaurant additions.
