Red Morton is a very spacious park with great multi-purpose sports fields, a playground, and a picnic area, making it a wonderful asset to the local community. However, I have noticed some safety and maintenance issues lately that hold it back from being a perfect 5-star experience. My main concern is safety regarding motorized vehicles. I frequently see local teens and kids—sometimes even elementary-aged children accompanied by their parents—riding gas-powered mini bikes or loud electric dirt bikes directly on the sports fields and paved walking paths. It is unclear whether there are explicit rules prohibiting these vehicles in the park, but no one is around to monitor the situation, and it honestly feels dangerous for pedestrians, field users, and anyone on the paved paths. Additionally, while the park is well-maintained overall, certain small details need closer attention. Specifically, some of the water fountains are poorly adjusted—either barely trickling or spraying water in every direction. It's a fantastic park overall, but better patrolling, clearer safety regulations, and quicker equipment maintenance are definitely needed to keep everyone safe. 4 out of 5 stars.

Visitor notes
This park has become a favorite spot for me after bringing my son here for soccer. It’s a large, well-maintained space with something for everyone—playgrounds for all ages, open green areas perfect for sports like soccer or frisbee, and even a small water feature that’s great on hot days. The atmosphere is lively, especially on weekends, with families, community events, and even gatherings like Pokémon meetups. There’s a beautiful rose garden, plenty of picnic areas (though they can fill up quickly), and thoughtful amenities like multiple restrooms and dog-friendly spaces. The inclusive playground is a big highlight for kids, and seasonal events like holiday light shows make it even more special. Overall, it reflects the strong sense of community in Redwood City, and it’s a place that makes you appreciate the area and want to help keep it clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.
My family and I are regulars at Red Morton and have always found the park to be pleasant and playful. We love going on family walks around the fields and seeing the little and adult league games, before stopping at the playground. The annual light show at holiday time and other events like, Pub in the Park are a lot of fun.
The best serving the community of redwood city. Kudos to all who make this happen.
Best memories here I learned how to ride my bike where the 49ers used to practice including Joe Montana Jerry Rice Steve Young. Back when they were so hometown This is an awesome park and alot has changed but I’m glad it’s still around
Nice playground for all ages. Plenty of green space to play soccer, frisbee or to just run around. There's a small water feature for hot days. Bring cardboard for additional fun!
This park is awesome and buzzing every weekend. It has a rose garden, some trees and grass areas, play grounds and plenty of sport fields. It is also a well known spot where Pokémon players meet every Wednesday evening or on special weekend events. There are also several events and parties organized by the town like pub in the park. A must see are the light shows around Christmas and New years.
Excellent park. The Magical Bridge Playground (recently opened as of Dec 2020) that has something for kids of most ages and abilities. Theres a skate park, soccer fields, basketball court and more. Facilities are clean, well maintained, and wheelchair accessible. There is a reservable bbq/picnic area that has 2 large bbq pits and 16 large picnic tables that is able to accommodate up to 160 people. The area is shaded with canopies that helps keep things cool.
