McNay Art Museum

Had an enchanting date night at the McNay Art Museum in San Antonio! The stunning architecture combined with beautiful artworks made for a magical backdrop. Each exhibit told a captivating story, sparking deep conversations. A remarkable experience that art lovers must not miss—truly unforgettable!

The best museum we have gone to in San Antonio. There are so many world famous artist represented here and a ton of artistic diversity including sculptures, paintings, costume designs, marquettes, metals, wood, and the mansion it is housed in adds to the ambiance. It is a historic reminder of the value that was placed on art back in the earlier days of the US when galleries were not available and art was showcased in the homes of the wealthy. I highly recommend it as even the grounds are remarkable and worth walking around.

Great experience. Went on their free HEB day. So many works of art to see plus different rooms. Great spot to take pictures outside. Beautiful mansion and yard.

The McNay Art Museum is truly one of the most beautiful and unique cultural spaces in San Antonio!! The museum itself is stunning, with gorgeous Spanish Colonial–style architecture & beautifully maintained grounds that make the entire visit feel special. Inside, the galleries are thoughtfully curated + feature an impressive collection of modern and contemporary art. The layout makes it easy to explore at a relaxed pace, and each space feels calm, inspiring, and welcoming!! One of the highlights is simply walking through the property and enjoying the blend of art, architecture, and peaceful outdoor spaces. It feels like a little oasis in the city. Whether you are an art lover or just looking for a beautiful place to spend an afternoon, the McNay Art Museum is absolutely worth visiting!! :-)

This place was so much fun, I thoroughly enjoyed the day we spent there, it had so many places to take some beautiful pictures, so EVERY 2nd Thursday they live music and the entrance is free from 4-9 pm, every Thursday the entrance fee is waived from 4-9 so you can enjoy the facility.. if you’ve never been here it so worth going at least once in your lifetime.. we will definitely be going on the 2nd Thursday for the live music, oh you can have your pet outside while listening as well which was so cool..

I would rate this museum a 5 had the employee at the monet painting not been so rude. She’s an elderly woman that caused a scene when me and my friend took a photo in front of a painting, there was a flash and I had not noticed that it was on. She walked over towards us and started yelling that we couldn’t have flash on, I tried explaining to her that it was an accident and she kept repeating herself that flash was not allowed and to get away from the painting. I understand that flash is not allowed and I was not intending on using it, the employee did not have to cause a scene and it was very embarrassing for me and my friend. The rest of the museum was well decorated and clean, just be aware that you can NOT use flash or sit on the ledge of the water fountains. Besides the old hag the museum was nice and it’s free on Thursday’s from 4-9 pm.

First Sundays are free! It's a great experience for the whole family. They have an elevator for wheelchair or stroller. Just a few snack and soda machines, no cafeteria. What a shame but still a superb value. San Antonians! Don't miss this, go at least twice a year, you won't get regret it.
