I've visited this outstanding Botanical Garden in St. Louis twice now and if I lived nearby would be a member. Beautiful grounds and buildings with incredible history. So much to see hard to describe it all. The dome structure is like a tropical forest even has lizards hanging around. Has a little shop for gifts and a place to get a bite to eat.

I really had a nice time and had been wanting to go for a very long time. I'm so glad yesterday got to be my first time going. I really enjoyed the quietness, calmness and the overall of satisfaction of peace. There were so many beautiful observing spots, flowers, trees, plants and it was big. I didnt get to see some of the places but I'll be returning soon. They also offer free admission on Wednesday and Saturday 7am to noon for all St. Louis City and county with proper identification.
First time visiting and absolutely loved it!! We were here for a few hours and still didn't get to see it all,and would love to come back. $16 entry and $6 tram ride makes for a very reasonable way to spend the day. The tram takes you all the way around the grounds and I highly recommend it. We did that first to help determine which areas we wanted to make sure that we visited. We visited the indoor rainforest area in the dome and "Wow!!" It was beautiful!! We also visited the Japanese Gardens and loved it.
Absolutely beautiful place to visit! I went during a weekday and on the weekend. Both times were a bit busy, but the space is large enough that it wasn't an issue. You can tell a lot of love and care goes into maintaining the grounds. All of the plants are thoughtfully placed, described, and healthy despite the recent bad weather. Like most botanical gardens, the experience is meant to educate as much as it is to be breathtaking to look at. And all of this is pretty affordable! It was an absolute pleasure to visit.
This is one of the best botanical gardens I've been too. It show cases the history of Henry shaw and the people around him taking care of the gardens. It goes in depth with the history of the people and the advances in what they accomplished. The garden itself is such a delight and an amazing experience. It took me all 8 hours taking my time exploring every nook and cranny but even then I wasnt able to fully see it, I had to rush the last hour until they closed. This place is for everyone, singles, couples, family, family with kids, etc...
This place goes on forever !!! Blew every single botanical garden I've been to so far in the U.S. Highly recommend this experience. The Dome is really special . Many plants I had never seen before , it was wild . We didn't even see everything it was so big. Museum , cafes , absolutely beautiful . My favorite were the Japanese gardens - so peaceful . Pro tip ; if you come in later , tickets are half price . You'll have to walk faster lol to get through it all . They also offer military discounts & other specials as well.
Absolutely beautiful botanical garden! I loved the flowers, plants, and sculptures scattered throughout the grounds. The plant labels were incredibly informative, and I enjoyed learning where different species originate from around the world. The Climatron was amazing and felt like walking into a tropical rainforest. My favorite part was the koi fish pond. Being able to feed the fish made the experience extra special, and fish food is conveniently available near the pond and at the shop by the entrance. A wonderful place to spend a few hours exploring and enjoying nature.
Had a wonderful experience visiting here! The scenery is beautiful and the types of plants is enormous. I especially loved the dome with all the plants in there. The air felt so fresh in there- wish I had more time to spend there. The waterfall really brought everything together. Words just don’t describe the mood this place sets. I especially enjoyed all the different outdoor places to visit that carried foreign plants like China and Japanese. Hope I get to visit one day again and spend a little more time next time!
