Truly hard to imagine how a place like this exists. It's like your wildest dreams in real life. The place is absolutely huge and is essentially all climbable. You could spend all day and still find new things to climb on or tunnels to explore. We had a 3, 7, and 9 year old with us and there was plenty for all of them. I could not get over how amazing each and every inch of this place is. If you have kids and are in St. Louis you need to come here. If you live anywhere in the United States and have kids you need to come here. You will not regret it!

Visitor notes
Such a fun and unique experience that has things for the whole family - all ages!! I couldn't believe the amount of time and effort that must've gone into all the art and design of the tunnels, pathways, sculptures, slides, and architecture. Such a beautiful and cool atmosphere. Very unique. My kids and my parents all loved it alike. Highly recommend
This is a very unique indoor /outdoor playground for kids & adults. Tubes & slides made from salvaged equipment & building scrap from razed buildings. Our 11 yr & 14 yr old grandsons loved it, especially the outside area called MonstroCity. I enjoyed seeing the salvaged cement architecture from old buildings that were on display...intricate designs in the cement work like gargoyle heads & how broken ceramic tiles were used to create mosaic flooring designs, old rebar turned into railings, stairways & tubes to crawl thru. We spent about 2.5 hours here.
We had an excellent experience at City Museum in St. Louis and would highly recommend it to families, couples, and anyone looking for a unique adventure. It’s one of those rare attractions that is just as much fun for adults as it is for kids. There is so much to explore, climb, crawl through, and discover that you can easily spend an entire day there and still not see everything. We were pleasantly surprised by the food. It was relatively good, reasonably priced, and convenient when we needed a break from all the activity. Parking was easy, and we were able to find a spot close to the entrance, which made the visit even more enjoyable. One thing we appreciated was that all of the attractions and activities we tried were open, functional, and well-maintained. The museum is constantly engaging and encourages creativity, exploration, and a sense of adventure for all ages. Our biggest tip: buy a pair of inexpensive knee pads from Amazon before you go. You’ll spend a lot of time crawling, climbing, and squeezing through tunnels, and your knees will thank you later! Overall, City Museum is one of the most unique and fun attractions we’ve visited. It was a highlight of our trip, and we’d absolutely visit again. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had an absolute blast at the City Museum! We took our boys (18 and 15) along with our two younger daughters (11 and 8), and every single one of them had the time of their lives. They literally wore themselves out from how much fun they were having! There is so much to explore, climb, crawl through, and experience it kept all ages completely entertained the entire time. It was simply one of the most amazing experiences we’ve had as a family. So unique, so fun, and something you truly have to see to believe. I literally can’t comprehend how someone ever designed this place. It is so unique and cool. We will definitely be coming back again!!
City Museum is truly a gem of a place. The design is amazing, and the attention to detail is absolutely top-notch. What impressed me the most was how imagination has been brought to life so perfectly throughout the space. That said, the place is definitely starting to show its age in some areas. But it is also easy to understand that maintaining a place this unique and complex is no small task. Kudos to everyone involved in preserving and maintaining such an incredible attraction. Overall, it is a fascinating, creative, and memorable place that is absolutely worth visiting.
Such an amazing place! Full of adventure! We bring a flash light to help see in some of the darker cave exploration areas. The kids love this! A lot of people have/ use knee pads too. Lots of opportunities to climb & crawl around. So much to explore! I think it helps for the kids to be a little older as they explore like 8 years or older in my opinion. It just helps with them being able to be a little more independent during exploring. This place is huge & has lots of options for everyone. There is so much to do here!
This is such a fun place! We took our 8 and 3 year old. They were able to go on every obstacle and were entertained the entire time we were there. The day went so fast! We were not allowed on the train ride with our 3 year old which we found odd, but understood the weight/ height restriction. It went pretty fast and our child was not scared to ride alone. The attendant was very friendly. The food was lower quality and expensive. But it came quick and there was plenty of seating. The building was not overly crowded and there was hardly a wait for anything.
