Sacramento Zoo

Lots of places to sit in the shade, very walkable. Get there in the morning when most of the animals are out. Very cute little zoo with lots to explore. Zoo tip: eat before you go in! The Cafe is EXPENSIVE but if you don't care, then no problem there.

Very clean and well maintained zoo. The animals were content and the enclosures were maintained very well. It is a smaller place, but very entertaining and educational. Far far better than the nasty San Francisco zoo.

This is a nice zoo, a little smaller when it comes to zoo's. But it's packed with a lot of animals. It even had a dinosaur themed event, where they compared the evolutionary similarities between certain animals and dinosaurs. Not to mention the gigantic dinosaur models and anametronicts. Really enjoyed the cheetahs, giraffes, rhinos, red pandas, etc. bring the whole family, we had a fun packed day!

We came here for my toddlers birthday. She enjoyed the playground more than the animals haha. My 2 oldest daughters loved seeing all the animals and my 13 yr old was showing us all the good spots (she came here on a field trip) we saw our favorites, the giraffes and we even saw some babies! We went during the dino safari and my husband liked that part! It was cool seeing all the dinosaurs all around the zoo. Overall, we had a great time, bought some souvenir cups and saw some cool animals.

Pretty cool zoo, a little on the pricier side for what you get. Good variety of animals and decent enclosures for them. Enrichment for the animals is on the lower side but you can tell the employees care about them and are enthusiastic about their profession. The grounds were in very good shape, extremely clean and trash cans everywhere. The entirety of the zoo wouldn't take the average family more than an hour and a half. Overall a fun afternoon activity.

10/5 I love going to the zoo, everytime I go I have so much fun with my child, and whoever we decide to bring with us. My favorite place is the reptile house (where most of my photos are from), but theres much more to see!! And it’s worth spending the time to explore and learn about each animal!!

It's not world class, it's not big or fancy, not the most exotic animals, or even amount of animals, but i love it. Everyone looks taken care of, it's clean and well kept. Delicious hot dogs! And just a really nice vibe. I love it.

Recently visited the zoo on my kid's field trip with the dino exhibits on display. Very lifelike and a great bonus if you visit now! The red pandas were our group's fave! Both of them were out and very active!
