The Monument

Finally made it to a monster truck show and it was fantastic. What a fun thing to do with the family. It was my first show and I wasn't sure what to expect but I definitely didn't leave disappointed!

A bit wierd to get into, if you don't park in the direct entrance. I went for a few Rapid City Rush games, the crowd is a but on the quiet side, and the announcers are quite. Great concessions, and security.

We attended the 2025 Black Hills Powwow at The Monument and were really impressed! The venue was exceptionally clean and well maintained throughout the event. There were plenty of bathrooms, and they were easy to find — which makes a big difference at a large gathering like this. We also appreciated the convenient elevators and escalators, which made getting between levels smooth and accessible for everyone. Overall, a great experience in a comfortable, welcoming facility!

I went to the Demolition Derby event, and first, I have to mention that we bought parking tickets for $20, but no one ever asked for them. When we asked about it, they told us that parking is actually free. The paid parking we bought is just an extra area in case the main lot gets full, but honestly, the regular parking area is big enough, so there’s no problem finding a spot. I wouldn’t recommend buying the parking ticket. As for the venue, I thought it was great—exactly what I expected. The seating areas were comfortable enough, and the event lasted around four hours. If yours lasts about the same, I suggest bringing something cushioned to sit on. The seats aren’t necessarily uncomfortable, but after a few hours, you’ll definitely start to feel it. I definitely recommend going to the Demolition Derby—it’s an awesome event! However, if you have sensitive ears or don’t do well with loud noises, make sure to bring some earplugs.

I like this venue. Parking is ok depending where you got to be! The best part of this venue in my opinion is the proximity to hotels including the double tree I believe, was the holiday inn, is on site making transportation a non factor. One pit fall I found was price for events, which seem to be a bit high however there are other perks because of this .

This was our first time in the civic center for the Kountry Junkin’ vintage market and we had a great time. We found a lot of fun unique things, had some snacks (the walking taco is a must try!) and enjoyed talking to all the vendors. This place was neat and clean with friendly people everywhere. We can’t wait to go to a concert next.

I recently visited this convention center for my college graduation ceremony, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations. The facility is incredibly spacious and well-planned, making it an ideal venue for large-scale events. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the modern architectural design and the clean, professional environment. The seating capacity is massive, yet the layout ensures a clear view from every angle. The convertible seating arrangements are a great touch, allowing flexibility for different types of events. One of the highlights was the large digital screen — crystal clear and visible from every corner of the hall, enhancing the entire experience for both the audience and participants. Sound quality was another standout. The acoustics are well-engineered, ensuring every word spoken on stage was sharp and audible without echo or distortion. It's evident that a lot of thought has gone into the technical infrastructure. All necessary amenities were readily available and well-maintained — clean restrooms, ample parking space, accessible pathways, and efficient security arrangements. The management has truly prioritized comfort and convenience for guests. Overall, this convention center is one of the best I’ve visited in terms of space, technology, and functionality. It made our special day even more memorable. Highly recommended for graduations, conferences, or any large gatherings!

This venue was excellent! The venue had lots of parking to start with. My wife and I took our 5 kids to see the WWE while we were on vacation. The line to get in moved quickly, even with metal detectors. The staff was very helpful when finding our seats. Concessions had short lines and prices are ridiculous like all similar venues. It is what it is. We had great seats and our kids had a blast at the event. Leaving the parking lot wasn't horrible and didn't take long. We had a great experience visiting this venue.
