Black Hills Caverns

Black Hills Caverns were amazing. The walk down to the caverns was a little 2 minute path, super easy, where our guide told us about the founding/finding/history of the cave/caverns. The coolness of the caverns, was a perfect 50 degrees, the walk down inside was a little steep in parts but very doable, you just take your time. The "bacon" displayed on the walls, the ribbons, the different stalactites and stalactmites were so cool to look at and very abundant. Walking through the narrow passageways and ducking under rocks was fun. Actually seeing exactly "how" touching the inside of a cave kills the living organisms in it was eye opening, they have a "dead room" thats been killed off before people knew it would kill the cave. Glow stones were amazing and made everyone want to go find those types of rock and buy em for ourselves!!! The history of the cave was impressive as well. It seems the area was crazy popular around the '20s and '30s for finding caves and starting tour businesses. Michelle (not Pam) our guide did an amazing job telling her dragon stories and working the truths of the cave and history in as well.

Took my family and were amazed on the tour. It was awesome getting to be so close to the rocks. Eliana was an awesome tour guide. The next time we get to the area we will definitely be coming back.. if you get the chance my boys and I definitely recommend this.. 10 thumbs up

My family and I had such a great time when we visited Black Hills Caverns! We did the Adventure tour and it was well worth it. Our tours guides did an amazing job and the experience made our child really enjoy their time there. Not to mention they have sold much to offer! Thank you!

We took the long tour. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. If you are looking for massive formations...this isn't the tour for you. If you are looking for natural formation, knowledgeable guides and traversing different landscapes this is the tour for you. Xander was amazing. Clearly knew what he was doing and made it fun. I have done several different caves over the years and really enjoyed this one.

All staff were wonderful.... engaging and knowledgeable! Young man at the gift shop counter even found us a coupon. Our tour guide, Annaka, was awesome - we had a small group (just our family), so we got to chat quite a bit with her. Highly recommend!!!

Great tour. Definitely wear a light shirt. The tour is crazy with low ceiling in spots and tight squeezes and steep wet pathways. I was fine going down but just about over heated climbing up the stairs and pathways. Would I do it again probably as it was pretty cool.

Such fun! We went on the shorter tour, but next time, we'll go on the long tour, and go deeper into the caves. Entertaining, informative, and a good time. Be aware, if you have stability issues, or lack stamina, the shorter tour might suit you best. Tall people should be ready to crouch!

Had a tour this morning with Isaac. It was great! We had small kids… ages 8, 6 and 4… easily able to do the adventure tour. Stairs and cave is well maintained and the kids had a blast! Gift shop is very nice but there are ports potties outside… recommend you stopping in town at the restroom before you come. Enjoyed the experience!
