I had two experiences here and man, I wanted to love it because it takes a lot for me to spend money like this on myself. First time I signed up for a prenatal massage which they didn’t allow because my doctors note didn’t come in time so I got a $160 foot rub. The gal who did the massage was wonderful, but it was not worth the price. I went again a few months later for the prenatal massage and was told by the therapist right before the appointment began that she works “light to medium”. I mentioned how I need more medium and higher pressure because I have a high tolerance. For $190 ($210 on weekends)I got a gentle gliding touch from my head to my feet. There was no interest from the therapist in focusing on areas that are commonly needing more care during pregnancy which made me feel like the therapist wasn’t actually experienced in prenatal massage or intuitive at all with body work. At the end I was told if I wanted a firmer massage (can’t remember exact wording) I “should book with name or name” handed a rubber cup of water and sent out. Like, cool…thanks for telling me now? I wish I could have spent the money on an independent local therapist rather than navigating the Death Star for this uncanny valley of “ crunchy mom self care” experiences. The Spa was whatever. Cold and wet. There weren’t any comfortable seats while you wait for spa services and people claim chairs with towels then don’t use them, leaving limited options for those that can’t spend a lot of time in the tubs and don’t want to sit outside.

Second visit to Knot Springs. My husband treated myself and my dear friend to massages and springs visits. Upon check in, we were told by the woman checking us in we were thirty minutes early. I explained when making the reservation, I inquired if there was a possibility paying extra for 30 minutes. (when one pays for a massage, you get an hour and a half in the pools, then the massage. When you go to the pools, only, you can pay for two hours) I told the woman that when making the reservation, I was informed that it wouldnt be a problem. She was so nice. HOWEVER, another woman working there wanted to put her enforcement hat on and make sure that I knew it wasnt ok. I was here for my birthday. I didn't feel like I needed a tongue lashing or an attitude. If it was truly something that was problamatic, she should have taken it up with the employee that made my reservation. She was rude and left my guest and I feeling uninvited and uncomfortable. Just a bad way to start of a $500 visit with a 30 year friend on a special day. Upon check-out, she had an attitude, still. OK, Karen, it was 20 extra minutes by the time we got into the pool. Customer service may not be your thing. We made a reservation for August as we LOVED our massages but it might be time to try Casada Thermal Springs. Portland is such a small town. You never know who you are treating poorly. Everyone else was AMAZING...

Chloe one of the managers! Faaaantastic lady! Whole admin staff sweet. Dawn was my masseuse. Loved her! Someone with chronic elbow pain for the last six years she did some light cupping on there and literally the first time i haven’t had pain in a day in years. River mint tea was so good, want to buy in bulk. Everything great. ONE CON: more bathrooms lol

Unfortunately I was pretty disappointed with my experience here recently. My friends and I went on a Saturday and it was very crowded. The locker area was hard to navigate there were so many people crowded in there, there was a line for showers and bathroom stalls, and we could barely fit in the hot tubs. I am surprised at how many people they let in at once. The price for treatments is very high, and they say the use of the saunas is "complimentary" which is not true. No one pay $286 (including 20% tip) for a facial, that's so expensive. You are clearly paying for the use of the sauna, which you then oddly tip on top of. It wasn't even a great facial. It was relaxing and nice but this spa does NOT feel high end. There was wet toilet paper on the floor in the bathroom, cups and sandals EVERYWHERE in the sauna area. It just felt hectic. Windows were covered in water spots too so the view wasn't even clear. Would not recommend or go back, I will try Cascada next time.

I truly don't leave reviews but I NEEDED to after the incredible visit I had today! I made a mistake on my timing and was a bit panicked with a flight to catch later in the day. The staff was so kind and understanding, the helped me work it all out and I was able to enjoy my visit to the fullest! I would recommend this spot to anyone and I can't thank the front desk enough!

I went with my sister while she was visiting with her boyfriend in town and they were impressed by the spa and varying pool temperatures. It was incredibly relaxing and I wish we could have stayed a bit longer but they had a plane to catch! The staff was super kind and accommodating and allowed us to put the luggage in a sectioned off area. Towels, body wash, shampoo and slippers are provided. The outdoor deck was really beautiful and provided a clear view of Portland. I will certainly be returning🧖🏼‍♀️

Knot Springs has become a ritual stop for me and my band every time we roll through Portland on tour. Walking in here feels like entering another dimension. The space is beautiful, calming, and somehow manages to feel both luxurious and unpretentious. Huge shoutout to Mary, who always makes the experience extra special. She’s warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely seems to care that people leave feeling restored. You can tell she brings a lot of heart to the place. If you’re in Portland and need to reset your nervous system for a few hours, this is the spot!!!

Long time KS enjoyer - so disappointed in my last visit here and likely will not be returning. I have been going to Knot Springs for years, It's become tradition. My last visit was just bad. I felt like I was at a community pool - I go out of my way driving from Salem up to Portland and plan my day around the visit. These issues I am about to list sound so first world but when you pay $90+ - PLUS bring two new guests hoping they will enjoy their time, AND pay for them, $360 total, I needed better. Firstly, the community areas just weren't clean. Staff seemed like it was bothersome that we were there, checking in felt felt like we were interrupting their conversations, and for our two new guests there was no intro on where to go or how the spa really works. I had to explain and show everyone everything, and that was difficult because one of the guests was my boyfriend and I cant show him how the mens lockeroom works. IDK whats in there! Second - the eucalyptus towels. I love these things. When I tried to go up and ask for one, one of the girls working could've easily grabbed me one but instead looked at me and told me to wait, and then turned around and went through the entire check in process with new guests before coming back to get me a towel. I felt stupid. I am standing there at the desk now cold and wet after about 3-4 ish minutes of waiting for this towel so I can go into the sauna. They did not seem short staffed either. On top of it, the shittiest part, and I understand I cant blame KS entirely for this, but my sister and her partner were so uncomfortable with the experience on this evening that they only went in for about 10 minutes before exiting to put their clothes back on and wait an hour 1/2 for me to finish at the spa. I did not realize they were not there for about 30 minutes. They just felt uncomfortable and unwelcome. we did not really talk about it afterwards but I knew what they were feeling - I also kind of felt like I was white knuckling being there because It just did not seem like the previous trips we had had. Mind you my sister has been more than me! This last trip she also just felt off. Also - bathrooms - wet toilet paper all over the floors, counters dirty, everything just really wet - yes i get its a pool but BIG puddles of water in the bathroom stalls? idk... I do not expect a follow up from knot springs but i genuinley wanted better and next time I visit will have to try Cascada maybe? or hike out to Bagby.
