Great little cafe and (French) cheese market on the outskirts of Petaluma. We stopped in to grab some lunch, which we ate at the nice picnic tables. The scenery is amazing. One downside is that tour groups can show up, so it will be crowded all at once. The food was absolutely delicious, albeit a little on the pricey side. Worth a visit for sure.

We stopped here on our way back from Point Reyes, and it was an excellent decision!!! Plenty of variety of cheese,olives, desserts, etc. The attendants were incredibly helpful and had us try several cheese options. This traditional store is set in an idyllic green place with a lake and picnic area for you to delight after you've chosen your favorite treat.

Great place with a great history. They have cheese tasting, wine, ice cream, gift shop, pond, small park, and much more! This place is a nice area to take a break and relax after a long road trip.

We went to Valentine’s day and it was such a romantic and relaxing experience. I would recommend anyone to go on a date there. We picked out cheeses, olives, baguette and sat on the picnic tables with an amazing scenery. The cheese was out of this world and we talked about it for the rest of the trip. Either family time or romantic time it is perfect place to stop and enjoy. The also had a wide selection of wines and craft beer. This is a must!!!

Absolutely lovely cheese farm. Ample parking. Beautiful location. Great shop with amazing cheese,wine,drinks, and snacks. Everything you need for the perfect picnic in the beautiful garden. Love outdoor picnic by the lake. Lovely coffee and soft serve. Clean facilities. Great place to spend a few hours relaxing and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Highly recommend

Excellent place to spend an afternoon in Marin. The property is gorgeous and the cheese selection is excellent. The staff are very friendly and you can put together a nice lunch to enjoy by the water outside. Looking forward to our next visit.

I’ve stopped at Marin French Cheese Co. many times over the years, and it has steadily grown on me. For a long time, I wasn’t sure how I felt about the small, round cheeses with the soft, slightly bloomy rind—but once I finally tried eating the whole thing, rind and all, I was won over. The cheese here is consistently excellent, and their tasting counter makes it easy to find a favorite. Marin French Cheese Co. is known for its traditional brie and camembert-style cheeses, and they continue to produce everything on-site using methods that date back to the 1800s. They’ve expanded their offerings in recent years with seasonal varieties and award-winning specialty batches, and there’s usually something new to sample when you visit. One of the best parts of stopping here is the setting. The pond and picnic area outside are perfect for a relaxed afternoon. Pick up a cheese or two, grab a baguette or some accompaniments from the shop, and enjoy a peaceful outdoor break while watching the ducks and geese glide across the water. It’s a simple, scenic spot that adds to the overall experience.
