I think this is a fun place. The music is good. The vibes are nice. Lots of couples, girl groups, and a few families with older kids. You do need to make a reservation in advance but they are not likely to seat you until maybe 15 min. after your reservation so you won’t have a lot of time to talk before but you also need to pay quickly because there are multiple seatings so you can’t linger. I thought the cocktails were generally good. They have a number of non-alcoholic options. The fries were delicious and shareable. A friend ordered a Negroni that tasted oddly like an old fashioned and another friend ordered a wine they’re familiar with that just tasted like it had been open for too long. The music was good but you can’t see the performers very well if you’re on the left side of the room so try and get there early if that’s important to you. Remember you can’t talk while the performers are playing.

The Django is truly a jazz gem in New York. The atmosphere is intimate, the live band was amazing, and the cocktails are excellent. I ordered a Coffee Martini that wasn’t even on the menu, and they made it absolutely perfect. The experience feels very authentic and elegant. Just keep in mind that reservations are highly recommended, there’s usually a 1.5-hour seating time between sets, and a minimum of two drinks per person. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a great jazz night in NYC — I’d definitely come back.
Make a reservation for free. Two item purchase minimum required with reservation. Cover charge is charged on the day of reservation. The atmosphere is beautifully stowed away under the Roxy Hotel, which gives a nice speakeasy vibe. The low light makes it romantic and calm. They have basically good drinks. I didn’t have any food, but it smelled amazing as it was being served to the table next to me. Cheapest night to book is on Sunday.
If you’re looking for a great jazz bar in New York, Django is my favorite. The live band is always fantastic, the drinks are well made, and the atmosphere is hard to beat. It’s the perfect spot for a date night, catching up with friends, or just enjoying live music in a unique setting. One tip: make a reservation in advance, because it fills up quickly and walk-in spots can be hard to get.
Lots of fun! Great show and I was expecting a decent dinner, well it wasn’t, it was top notch. Duck club was perfect. Also had steak tartare and meat and cheese board. Cocktails were great too. Our server, I believe his name was Erick, was very well trained in service. There when we needed him and non intrusive the rest of the time. 10/10
Wow, I loved it! the food was really good and the ambiente was incredible. A must when you are in NYC. the server also brought a desert because we were celebrating a birthday. 10/10
My recent visit to The Django, was truly a highlight of my trip to New York. The live jazz performance was nothing short of phenomenal. The acoustics in the cavelike space are excellent, making for an immersive and authenthic experience. The service was attentive and friendly, it was the perfect spot to celebrate my birthday and have a romantic date night with my husband. If you are looking for an authenthic, high-quality jazz experience in NYC, this is the place that will deliver a top tier evening that I would happily repeat.
I was so excited to visit The Django and experience a jazz club in NYC before we left, and while it was great for the most part, my night didn’t end so well. The performers did an amazing job! My problem was with the food unfortunately. I ordered the cacio e pepe, and it tasted fine. Before we left to go back our hotel my stomach was hurting & throat a little scratchy. I didn’t think too much of it, but I couldn’t sleep and got sick in the middle of the night. Guess both the waiter and I have to do better with allergy awareness!
