A hidden gem in NYC that completely surprised me! Located right next to my building, yet it took me years to finally visit The museum showcases the stunning works of Nicholas Roerich, inspired by the Himalayas, Asian culture, and spirituality. The space is peaceful, uncrowded, and completely free to visit If you’re looking for a quiet place to enjoy art, history, and a little inspiration, this spot is absolutely worth a visit

A hidden free gem in my neighborhood. And I only found it because it was starred on Google Maps on the UWS and I got curious. Learned a lot, saw the beautiful art paired with amazing scents from the fragrance exhibition, really welcoming staff at the reception desk. Magnets and postcards in the small gift shop made my visit complete. Would visit again!

A lovely free-access, donation-based museum in a townhouse. Excellent way to spend 45 min to one hour when in the neighborhood. Got to learn about the artist, his life, and contributions to the art world and peace efforts.

This is a hidden gem! Cool historical photos of Roerich with Henry Wallace! Amazing art, copper enamel art including a copper enamel freize. Love it! Pay what you want.

A beautiful setting for equally beautiful artwork. Learning about the life and history of Nicholas Roerich truly enriched my visit and gave deeper meaning to his pieces. The museum is free to the public, though donations are welcomed—and well deserved. A peaceful and inspiring experience that feels like a step into another world. Highly recommended for art lovers and curious minds alike.

Hidden jam. Archives, history, photos, books, paintings and mosaics by Nicholas Roweich. Historical house where Roweich lived while founding it's NY Art Academy. No prior reservations required, so easy and free to get in. Thank you for the experience and saving Roerich spirit and legacy. So relevant nowadays
