We just hosted my husband’s 50th birthday on Clipper City. We rented the entire boat, and it was wonderful. The water, the views, live jazz, raising of the sails and the open bar. Ewa & her crew did such a fantastic job making sure this was an occasion to remember. We could not have wished for a better venue. It was a great party! Huge thank you to the entire team.

Sailing on the Clipper City Tall Ship was a magical experience in the city. From the moment I stepped on board, I felt less like I was a tourist, and more like I was a guest on a classic and characterful vessel. The crew set a laid-back and friendly tone right away and demonstrated an actual passion for what they do. They welcome questions, were very friendly and allowed visitors to help with the sails, so the ride was interactive as opposed to passive. Service at the bar was fast and easy, and having a drink while the ship was under sail turned the harbor into something like no ferry ride. The views were the highlight of the trip. Watching the skyline rise up and glide past the statue of Liberty at such close range and observing the city from the water with the changing lights was impressive. Sunset produces a calm and almost cinematic tone that is difficult to reproduce in photographs. Most notable was the atmosphere on board. There's enough room to move, to lean on the rail, to snap photos or just stand quietly and take in the show. The experience never was rushed or scripted. It works if you're with a date, friends and family or on your own.

The Ultimate New York Harbor Experience Sailing aboard the Clipper City offers a truly unique and breathtaking way to experience the New York City skyline and its iconic landmarks. More than just a simple boat tour, this experience transports you to another era, combining the thrill of sailing a historic tall ship with unparalleled views of modern Manhattan. Simply stepping aboard is an experience. The wooden decks, the towering masts, and the complex rigging create an instantly nautical and romantic atmosphere. The ship is well-maintained, feeling authentic and sturdy without sacrificing comfort. The routes are perfectly designed to maximize photo opportunities, taking you close to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and providing stunning perspectives of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Lower Manhattan skyline. Crew and Service: The crew members are professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. They run the ship efficiently and are happy to answer questions about the vessel's history, the sailing process, and the surrounding landmarks. They ensure every passenger feels safe and comfortable, making the experience accessible even for those who have never sailed before. The service is prompt, and if you opt for a cruise with included refreshments (such as the sunset cruise), the offerings are pleasant and fairly priced.

An absolutely amazing experience! The ship was quaint and comfortable. Plenty of space, and not a large crowd. We took our 2 year old and 1 year old - they both loved it! The ship was immaculately clean. The bar had a wide variety of drinks - including a Shirley Temple that my 2 year old can’t stop talking about. The crew was kind and welcoming, very helpful and friendly. 10/10 recommend! We’ve done a few different skyline/Statue of Liberty cruises and this is by far our favorite.

Sunset cruise ended with two broken booms and a traumatized passenger list. Crew did an awesome job but sails were not the thing to do when a squall is coming.

I expected this to be a delightful afternoon, but it was so much better than that. They've extended their season into November because of the warm weather and so we decided to join them for the Afternoon Golden Hour Cocktail Sail. The crew is very friendly and welcomes you to lend a hand raising the sails. The ship is clean, roomy and very stable. Music is by jazz artist Michael, who plays a variety of instruments and matched the vibe perfectly with a well chosen song list. My Blood Orange Old Fashioned from the bar was even better than it sounds. The views are amazing. We sailed away from Pier 17 and enjoyed beautiful views of lower Manhattan, Governor's Island and Ellis Island, but the highlight was watching the sunset behind the Statue of Liberty. The pictures I posted don't do it justice. This was well worth the price for a lovely day on the water and I plan on making this a regular thing.

Living in NYC my whole life, I thought I’d seen it all of the ways it could be seen, but I was wrong. I took Manhattan By Sail’s Sunset Jazz Sail, and I saw my home town in a new way. It was a truly special experience. The owner and crew made us feel welcome, and even invited us to help raise the sails. The owner created a custom non alcoholic cocktail for me, which was delicious. As the sun set over the harbor, jazz musician Mike set the mood while we enjoyed stunning views of the Statue of Liberty, Governor’s Island, Ellis Island, and lower Manhattan. We returned to shore as night fell, yesterday’s super moon reflected in the waters of the harbor. Whether you’re visiting NYC, or are local, Manhattan By Sail will show you the city in a way you’ll always remember. I will definitely be back.

One of the highlights of our trip to New York. Had booked one of the ordinary sails and was pleasantly surprised that there was a live jazz duo also on board. Staff were extremely friendly and experience was unreal. One of the best ways to view manhattan. As this was only second day of sailing of the season there was a few teething problems with bar staff not knowing all they had in stock but I’m sure that will be rectified very quickly. Would absolutely recommend booking this
