This is the best doggie day care ever. The staff is wonderful and I know they actually play and care for my dog when I’m away at work. My pup has horrible separation anxiety and the fact that his little butt wiggles when we arrive lets me know he loves the place and people in charge. They have a great grooming service as well. I also love the paw-gress reports and pictures of him having fun. They even celebrated his birthday and I think he has a girlfriend now.
Hands down the best groomers in Harlem! I recently moved to another part of Harlem and tried a different groomer but Alexis and Harlem Doggie Day Spa are worth the trek. I’ve gotten there early to pick up my dogs and have seen the staff just lovingly petting/cuddling the dogs that are being groomed. Your dogs are in great hands here!
HDDS is a wonderful resource for dog owners here in the city. We needed to find daycare for our eight-month-old pup after being called back into working in the office. We enrolled Reese after speaking with the staff and taking a look at the facilities.
We needed someone to watch him during the day, obviously, but what we were not aware of is how important socialization would be for him. He was a well behaved dog before, if a little rambunctuous, but for him to have the chance to hang out all day long with all types of dogs and get good exercise while doing so has paid huge dividends.
The dogs play in an outdoor back area and are given balls, tug ropes, and enjoy the summer, they even have pool parties!
The staff is uniformly wonderful – kind, helpful, efficient— and they all really love dogs.
One time when we were going to board him overnight, they told us that a vaccination was expiring and he would not be able to board until we got that filled. HDDS was able to take him to a local vet and get that vaccine filled for us and then board him. So they are proactive as well.
They are also able to pick him up and transport him home on days other plans get in the way.
This is really a top-notch operation run by really good people. Reese loves them and we do too.
We are SO HAPPY with Harlem Doggie Day Spa!! It was our first visit today and they were very patient and kind. Alexis really took her time with our dog and even made a brush recommendation at the end of her groom. The icing on the cake was the cute bandana that had her name on it! Such a sweet touch. I highly highly recommend them and can't wait for our next visit!
I had a great experience with the grooming service at Harlem Doggie Day Spa. I’ve been looking for a new groomer since moving to the area and decided to try them out.
Scheduling was easy and user friendly - I appreciated being able to book online & upload all of my dog’s vaccination records through the portal. On the day of the appointment, the staff was incredibly friendly and warm towards both me and my dog - they communicated clearly as to what to expect during my dog’s groom, which helped me plan out my WFH day. They took such good care of my pup - they really listened to my preferences regarding what I wanted him to look like and he left smelling heavenly (seriously, I can’t stop smelling him)! They even made him a monogrammed bandana, which was such a sweet and special touch! will definitely be returning to get my dog groomed here.
Incredibly happy with Kiba’s results! He is a 5 year old, 50 lbs, Siberian Husky/German Shepard mix with a double coat and he actually returned with little to no shed!! This is incredible given other groomer experiences. His paws were neatly trimmed and nails cut. Also a huge plus that he smelled amazing afterwards (only a subtle scent and not overwhelming). Really appreciate the care and attention they took. We’ve definitely found our go-to groomer :)
The first time I came here with my puppy it was his first time at the groomers and they said he did amazing and I was so happy on how it went. He was so excited afterwards. The second time I came here for his second grooming ever. given my puppy is only 7 months old unfortunately that first experience was just that. The groomer came out super aggressive towards me regarding my dog and his behavior even though he is just a baby. Then proceeded to bully me into my next appointment which I then later cancelled shortly there after. I wont be returning here again. I was shocked and disappointed that the staff would behave this way towards me and to my baby he came home behaving so sad and not himself I was so scared. The groomer got upset about minor things that could have been a simple
conversation. He was not understanding at all regardless this being his second grooming visit ever. He was very combative. I wont be returning here again. If you have a young dog I would not advise going here.
I love this doggie spa for my dog. They take their time with their dogs to make them feel welcomed especially if they’re a puppy like mine. The groomer got to know him and made me feel secure with my dog being there. I would recommend for anyone to bring their pup to this establishment. Brady and I will be regulars from here on out.
