I tried all three dishes, and they were just okay. Nothing really blew me away, but I liked the pork rib pasta the most. The jerk lamb chops were my least favorite, not bad, just not as good as the others, but then again, I don't really eat lamb chops much. The oxtails and jerk chicken were okay. The sides were decent; I preferred the pasta with the jerk pork ribs and cabbage over the rice. The rice was a bit dry since it didn't have enough jerk gravy. And the mac and cheese with the lamb chops? I wouldn't even call it mac and cheese, but it was average. I think the dishes would taste better if they used a different, better quality of jerk seasoning. Overall, everything was good.

If you’re in New Orleans and craving authentic Jamaican food, Jamaican Jerk House is the spot. This place is the real deal you can taste the authenticity in every bite. The flavors are bold, rich, and clearly rooted in tradition. You can tell this isn’t just food, it’s a reflection of the chef’s heritage and passion. A quick tip: order online before you go. This place gets busy, and there’s almost always a line for a reason. The food is absolutely worth it, but ordering ahead will save you some time. Everything I tried was incredible, and I’ll definitely be coming back anytime I’m in the area. Highly recommend if you want genuine Jamaican flavor done right.

The service was subpar. Because I had my child with me I placed my order for curbside. It never came out, so I had to go inside. That really upset me! The cashier said she didn’t know anything about them offering curbside. That was strange to me. The oxtails had a little too much fat (1 was perfect, the other 2 were 1/2 meat and 1/2 fat) and they could have been cooked a little longer for tenderizing purposes. The flavor was exceptional! The plantain was really good. I wanted to love this place so bad but it’s just a like. Will I return, yes. Will I rush to do so, no.

This was my first time and the service was excellent- the rum punch was excellent - the jerk tacos was amazing - the fried pork chop was incredible - the rice - the cabbage - the oxtail tacos - the pasta - the atmosphere - the beautiful young lady serving me was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable about their product. Overall - a 9/10.

Everything was so good! Wish I could gatekeep lol but just by being there, I can tell they are family people doing their big one fasho. I can feel the dedication they put into their atmosphere and food. Everything was seasoned perfectly and the short rib was definitely tender, something I haven’t had in a log time (coming from other establishments) Definitely recommend it! 5 stars for jerk house! ❤️

The place for oxtail in the city. And the patties, and the mac, and the rice—it’s all delicious. Very generous portions. They say it’ll take about 30 minutes for the oxtails but mine came out in about 15. Nice people, amazing food, clean tables. What more could you want?

I visited New Orleans in December for a quick weekend trip and found this place the Sunday morning before leaving. We sat and waited for them to open because I love authentic Jamaican cuisine any chance I can get it. I ordered the ox tail pasta and a oxtail plate to bring back home to Alabama with and when I tell you I tasted the pasta in Gulfport and damn near turned around to go back and get another order oh my my my. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. Flavor and tendernism on another level. The plate was good as well but I can’t go back without getting the oxtail pasta ever time.

So delicious! I shared a combination plate of Oxtail and beef ribs with a friend and we still took home leftovers. The meat was rich, the spice level was perfect, and the combination platters are worth at least 3 meals in my opinion! Bar serves very tall drinks, so they were also worth their price.
