This place is awesome. The boat ride was super fun, and while I didn't get to do the train this time, I have before, and it was super cool as well. they are basically the same attraction, just one is inntge swampy waters and one is weaved throughout some of the higher levels of the park. the only thing I missed was the reptile exhibit being closed. but it didn't ruin the experience, that's just a personal preference. I have been in the past and it's a very cool setup so missing it this time was kind of a bummer. the only thing missing (besides the reptiles) was a giraffe and an elephant. again, personal preferences, but it doesn't, at all, ruin the experience. Will definitely be back.

This is a smaller zoo then others I've been to. But my family and I had soooo much fun and the price was very reasonable! Your able to get super close to the animals here. We went on the boat and train rides. Bly was our guide for the boat tour. He was absolutely AWESOME!! VERY knowledgeable and very sweet. Can't wait to come back and visit again.
Had a great time and so did the kids! They have a splash pad, train ride, boat ride. The lady running the boat rides was great, very friendly and made the experience amazing! And it’s affordable!! 10$ a person and then 5$ extra for train or boat ride. Plus, 2 & Under is free so that’s a plus with having two under two!
I was really hoping for a better experience at the Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo, but unfortunately it fell short. The overall condition of the zoo seemed run down, and several areas did not appear well maintained. The animal enclosures, in particular, looked unclean, which was disappointing and concerning. We visited in March, so I’m hopeful this may have been due to the zoo just opening up for the season and getting back into full operation. With some improvements in upkeep and cleanliness, this could be a much more enjoyable place to visit, but as it stands, it didn’t meet expectations.
We had a birthday party at Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo yesterday, and it was absolutely phenomenal! Jodi was our party host, and he was incredibly kind and engaging, showing us so many amazing animals. Since it was quite chilly, we were given the option to enjoy additional animal presentations instead of the boat ride, which turned out to be a great choice. The kids especially loved being able to touch many of the animals—it was truly a memorable experience for them. The party room was located in the educational building, with tables and chairs already set up, making everything easy and stress-free. Having restrooms in the same building was also very convenient. We truly appreciate Jodi for staying in contact with us before the party via phone and email, and for being so patient and kind with all of the kids throughout the event. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
I'll be honest, I don't like to speak negatively about places, but this was pretty bad. Walking in, this place seemed abandoned and one building by the Zebra enclosure towards the back was literally falling apart with the windows boarded over, though I'm not sure if it was by design.... that's a weird design though. Some of the enclosures were literally empty... Their attractions weren't really that great, though I wonder if their more popular attractions are normally closed on a weekday. Either way, the place seemed kinda run down and was kind of boring. I'd honestly go to the aviation Musuem that's only around 10 minutes away from this zoo. However, once the zoo finishes their "renovations" it could be better.
We had a fantastic time at the Louisiana Purchase Zoo! The weather was absolutely perfect, and there were plenty of different animals to see. The only minor bummer was that the lemurs weren’t out because of the time of year (they were off-exhibit/indoors), but there was still so much to do. A huge highlight for us was the aviary—my husband went inside the bird cage to feed the birds as they were landing all over him! He loved it. We also highly recommend the boat ride; it was fantastic and allowed us to see even more animals than we did just walking around the zoo. Our boat driver was super friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and honestly made the whole experience.
Great place to visit in family. You need buy the tickets for boat trip and train trip… is affordable and really nice place.
