My husband and I went to Lao Pot for lunch today for the first time. We opted for their a la carte option to avoid a potential wasted food fee with the all-you-can-eat option. I got the Three Delicacies soup base (a clear broth with tomatoes, cucumbers, green onion, I think water chestnuts, and chunks of spam) and Hubs got the Lao Pot Special soup base (a clear broth, and I'm not positive on everything that was in it, but it definitely had dates in it). We then shared the meats, veggies, and noodles. We had instant and udon for our noodles, beef, chicken, and shrimp for our meats, and white radish, bok choy, bean sprouts, and enoki mushrooms for our veggies. All of this was more than enough for the two of us! We left feeling full, but since it wasn't heavy we didn't feel miserable from being full. We also checked out their sauce bar and each made a bowl of sauce for dipping the cooked meats in. Hubs used garlic, cilantro, green onions, Chinese BBQ, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and black pepper, which made a nice sweet and savory sauce (no photo of this one). I used garlic, cilantro, green onions, their house chili sauce, sesame seeds, soy sauce, and sesame oil, which definitely was a spicy sauce, but it was really good. We eventually tried dipping into Hubs' sauce and then into mine and it was a perfect combo of sweet, savory, and spicy! We'll definitely be going back again some time to try other options, cuz everything was so good! I also want to add that Yan was our server and she was so great! She was very attentive, showed us how to turn on our cooking plates when the food came out, checked in on us every so often, and cleared away plate as they were emptied without us needing to ask.

My friends, family, and I have been coming here for years. Since most of us have moved out of MI proper, during holidays we actually make it an event to come here. This time around I was here with my brother. Delicious per usual. Our server Yan was very attentive and kind! Can’t wait until the next time.

Very welcoming place with friendly staff. We've done hotpot and Korean BBQ before at other places, but Lao Pot is my new favorite. I really liked some of the options at the appetizer buffet. The skewers were also a great addition. They were very flavorful and spicy. Our hotpot and BBQ were very tasty end there are a lot of broth bases to choose from. You can choose two broth bases and they come in one pot with a divider. Yan, our server was very friendly and helpful. Another plus compared to other places we've been to is that there was proper ventilation. All in all a very good experience!

Went to enjoy an early dinner around 430pm and I was the only guest in the restaurant. The place was clean. I helped myself to the appetizer bar but it wasn’t something that I would particularly enjoy. A lot of the appetizers seemed old. Sushi was old and the calamari was hard. All the others were cold. I had the AYCE hot pot and I got the spicy soup and it was okay. The lobster balls and the dumplings were good but the imitation crab was not. Also would not recommend the spicy beef for hot pot. Had a weird taste and slightly mushy. Wouldn’t come back again rather Kpot. Service was nice.

Here’s a more foodie-style review: 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely loved Lao Pot — such a gem. The broth was rich and layered with flavor, the ingredients were incredibly fresh, and every bite felt thoughtfully done. The hot pot experience was both comforting and exciting, especially being able to customize everything to your taste. Standouts were the quality of the meats, fresh vegetables, and the sauces took it over the top. You can tell a lot of care goes into the food here. Cozy atmosphere, great service, and the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. A must-try if you love bold flavors and a great dining experience.

The food was excellent! I loved that you can build your own ramen with unlimited meat and vegetables for up to two hours. One of the best parts is the buffet, which offers a wide variety of appetizers, fresh fruit, and desserts. The pricing is also very reasonable $20.99 for adult lunch and $30.99 for dinner. Customer service is also a 10/10.

This is the best place for hotpot and authentic Korean barbecue!! Yan was so helpful and accommodating - which is great for me as a mom. The food was so good and I was worried about my little one but she assured me all was well and even gave him a hello kitty plushie. I will definitely be coming back every time I am in the area. ❤️
