Visitor notes
Compared to other museums in New York, MoMA PS1 is definitely more compact and easy to explore, which I actually really appreciated. It doesn’t feel overwhelming, so you can take your time enjoying each exhibition space without feeling rushed. One of the best things is that tickets can be reserved online for free in advance, which makes visiting very convenient and stress-free. The admission is currently free for all visitors, and reserving ahead of time makes the whole process smooth and easy. (MoMA PS1) The museum itself is very visitor-friendly. There are restrooms available throughout the building, and having them on multiple floors makes it comfortable, especially if you plan to spend a few hours there. I also appreciated that there is a water fountain / water station on the second floor, which was a nice touch during the visit. Although it is smaller than larger museums like The Metropolitan Museum of Art or Museum of Modern Art, MoMA PS1 has a unique atmosphere and a more intimate experience. The contemporary art exhibitions are creative, thought-provoking, and often very different from traditional museum collections. The building itself also has character, which makes the visit even more interesting. Overall, it’s a wonderful museum for anyone who enjoys contemporary art and wants a more relaxed and manageable museum experience in New York.
I had some free time one afternoon and decided to check it out without really knowing what to expect. It turned out to be such a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed the space and the exhibition. Everything felt so creative and thoughtfully curated. The artwork was interesting and engaging, and I completely lost track of time exploring each piece. I walked out feeling inspired and a little more enriched. I guess that’s what good art is supposed to do.
FREE art? In this economy? already incredible — loved the installations from things made this year (2026) about the end of penny production to works made in the last 1900s about flushing’s immigrant workers. powerful stuff! Perfect for a rainy day. No wait, not crowded on a Saturday afternoon and spent about 2 hours.
这是一个旧学校改造的前卫艺术博物馆。很多看不懂,也有很震撼的。比如图片中这个微表情和口语的抓取,太值得细品了
MoMA PS1 is a relatively small museum, but it has very interesting exhibitions and curated great content for modern art / contemporary art. No matter if visitors like the art or not, they are intriguing and push visitors to reflect, think and discuss. Would love to come back to future exhibitions.
MoMA PS1 in Long Island City is one of the most interesting and creative museums I’ve been to in New York. The building itself used to be a public school, and you can still feel that history in the layout and the old classrooms that have been turned into exhibition spaces. One of the coolest hidden gems inside is the original boiler room you can actually go down and see the huge heating system that once powered the school. It’s a mix of industrial history and modern art all in one spot, and it really adds to the whole experience. The museum always has very unique and thought-provoking installations that go beyond the traditional idea of an art gallery. Every time I visit, there’s something completely new to explore. The bookshop inside has a really nice selection of art books, design magazines, and creative gifts you don’t usually find elsewhere. The café is also a great place to take a break the coffee and small bites are surprisingly good, and the atmosphere fits the artistic vibe of the place. Overall, MoMA PS1 feels like a blend of history, creativity, and community. Definitely worth spending a few hours wandering through.
Went to see Storch’s Soon will summer be over and got to see more of other interesting projects. The museum is well organized. It wasn’t crowded at all.
