LARC's Acadian Village

While visiting Lafayette LA. I wanted to a bit of Christmas spirit by taking in the lights, sites and sounds. It was a very pretty simple light displays. I loved how cold it was making it more enjoyable.

It's beautiful there during the holidays. 11$ per person to get in. Small children are free. It is well worth the visit if you're in Lafayette

We visited here from 2:00 to closing at 4:00 in the afternoon in early January and the light was just beautiful. The Christmas decorations were still up so things looked a little bit different than they would normally but the whole place would be absolutely fabulous at any time of the year! So many artifacts and such attention to detail in a magnificent green, rural setting. Signs placed with the artifacts and a brochure gave background information.

What a place! Helaire/Mr John, who welcomed us with songs and some information about how the houses came to the Village, was a delight - friendly, helpful, and full of knowledge to share. The exhibits are in superb condition considering their age and give a great insight into Acadian history and culture. Beautiful setting and well sign-posted. Would definitely recommend!

I love going here and seeing the beginning style of house and community that began home for a lot of Acadian people. It is the good ole day's atmosphere. You know sitting on the porch listening to stories. Smelling the fresh jam being made from the kitchen. They even have a great gift shop.

Super cool experience.! Definitely could be fun for a couple or the family. The coolest part of the place is the history behind it and the phone guide that gives you pretty much all the info you want to know about the buildings on site. Not only do they have houses of the time period but artifacts for that time as well. My favorite building was definitely the church. It is a replica, but it's gives you an insight into what it looked and felt like back then. Very cool experience. I will definitely bring the faimly back.

We were here for a wedding. Cute bridal suite with upstairs bedroom, claw foot tub, grounds are clean, and a beautiful old church.

Very fun day visiting here. Nice location. Nice set up. Well manicured grounds. The ponds are in need of some cleaning. The displays are nice, but need to be cleaned and revived. It appears they have been there for a long time and not really any upkeep. The person working the counter, while all questions were answered, was not rude, but not friendly at all. Not inviting or welcoming. No personality.
