The Rabbit hOle

Oh my goodness, this place is magical! You truly “go down the rabbit hole” and immerse yourself in storybook after storybook. There is so much detail everywhere you look, and it’s clear how much thought and work went into every space. We were able to get in quickly and ended up staying for about four hours. It never felt overly crowded, so we could really take our time exploring without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. As parents in our 30s, it was especially fun getting to share stories we loved as kids with our own children. We were also able to check out new books! There were interactive areas, cozy quiet spaces, tunnels, hidden little holes, a few slides, and of course, books everywhere. There are so many incredible details woven into each story—it was such a cool experience and absolutely worth visiting!

Plan to spend many hours here! Everywhere you turn, there is more to see, a volunteer to talk to and learn more about the project (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED). Look online to see what experiences they offer and purchase tickets prior to your visit. Once you arrive, I suggest getting your free ticket for the bus (up to four people) so you don’t miss this amazing opportunity. We can’t wait to go back!

This museum is exceptional! I felt like a kid again seeing my favorite storybooks come to life! Every single nook and cranny of this space was well thought out and artistically crafted. It was nice to have places for the kids to climb and explore. And there were also spaces to rest and be quiet. I like that each book was unique on display so it wasn't the same old thing over and over again. What I really loved was that they have multiple copies of each book represented in said section. So the ones we hadn't read and were interested in, we were able to discover like The Funny Thing and The Fire Cat. And ones we were aware if were fun to read while exploring like Goodnight Moon (my absolute favorite part), Babar, Frog and Toad, and No, David! The bus ride is a must; so creative and heart warming. We didn't purchase tickets for The Three Robbers experience, but peeking inside I wish we had, it looks great. The docents and volunteers were all knowledgeable of the books. And they were very kind when needing to remind kids of the museum rules. If I lived here I would by an annual membership for sure. And would have gladly paid more than the current $16 admission as I think this experience is worth much more.

I don’t usually take the time to write reviews but I’m more than obsessed with this place! We were passing through the area on a roadtrip and looking for a place to stop with our (almost) 2 year old and 3.5 year old. We considered the children's and science museums but ultimately decided to go here because I’ve never seen anything like it. I can’t recommend this place enough! So much fun for the kids but for my husband and I too as it felt very nostalgic. The detail is incredible and just so unique! We love to read lots of books at home but today reminded me of some of the classics I had forgotten about. Can’t wait to check them out at the library and share them with the kids!

This is listed as a childrens museum. I would say this is more of an interactive library. This is not some place for kids to run around and interact with the world around them like wonderscope or kaleidoscope. With that being said its beautifully done. There is so much attention to detail. Its great for a low key morning exploring and reading books or a rainy afternoon trip. Its fun, vibrant, brings the books to life. The staff was kind, even when my kiddos were being overly rambunctious when we were trying to leave. Speaking of, for our family this would be a great one on one date day. I felt this place was too low key for my rowdy crew together. Overall we had a great experience, we learned alot, and we will be back!

The Rabbit hOle is a MUST-take-your-kids kind of place. Not only is it super fun and engaging but will be for you too! There’s so many classic children’s books that will bring you right back to your own childhood. The designers and artists are absolutely fantastic and so creative in making this place come to life. You’ll be amazed! TIP : I would look up the books on display here and read a few to your kiddos ahead of time. My kiddo was super excited when they got to see a book we had been reading at home. It’s also a little overwhelming and stimulating and too exciting to the young mind (even mine 😅) to read the books while you’re actually there (which, yes, you can). I was able to read a couple while physically there tho too. My Garden by Kevin Henkes was my favorite new discovered book. We loved running into Madeline and Curious George bc we read those at home! The Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown (A CLASSIC) display was my personal favorite (located at the end in the library 🥰). There’s NO STROLLERS allowed inside. So, make sure you prepare accordingly with young babes. Baby carriers are allowed, so I would highly recommend bringing one.

We visited on a Friday morning. There is a large parking lot across the street, so no worries about that. There is a clearly marked and easily accessible walkway to the building entrance. around the corner. I pre-purchased tickets online for the general admission, and admission to the special exhibit for the book The Three Robbers. We did not have to wait at all, but I wouldn't be surprised if there was a line on a weekend. The Rabbit hOle is a "children's' museum," but it is unlike anything you've ever experienced. It is a fully immersive space, putting you inside the story. The attention to detail shows the time and knowledge that went into the design of each space. There are rooms dedicated to specific books, or multiple books. There are places to wander, crawl, climb, and explore. It is a dream for children. We also bought tickets for The Three Robbers experience, and it was well worth it. We read the book beforehand, but you also read the book at the beginning of the exhibit, so not an issue if you are not familiar with the story. Afterwards, you step in to story and participate in it. It is really so fun and a truly unique experience. Also, do not miss the cafe and bookstore. The cafe is cute, and has book themed snack options (very specific limited selections). My kids had grilled cheese and my husband had a salad. The Lucky Rabbit Bookstore inside is adorable and everything I want in a children's bookstore. They offer storytimes and there is also a huge classroom/crafts studio for classes and events. I wish there was something like this in our hometown. We would live there! This place is wonderful! Absolutely amazing place for children, parents, or really anyone who has read and loved classic children's books. I will say that the place is dedicated to "classic" children's literature, so you won't see exhibits for Harry Potter or Dogman, and if you or your children have not read some classics, you may not fully "get it." The website does provide a complete list of the books featured and it is extremely helpful to review and prepare before your visit.

Went here as an adult for a 21+ night. This place is out of this world! Every exhibit is extremely high quality, with a fine attention to detailIt's also a tactile experience you can touch almost everything, climb and crawl. There's also copies of books for each exhibit so you can learn while you explore. I could easily spent 4+ hours exploring every nook and cranny. I would have loved this is if I was a kid, or had kids, but if you are an adult sign up for the adult night you won't regret it!
