Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium

It was a decent experience overall. The zoo and aquarium had a good variety of animals, and the place was clean and well organized. Some exhibits were interesting, especially for children, but a few areas felt a little limited and could be improved. The staff were helpful and friendly. It is a nice place to visit once or twice , but it was not as impressive as I expected.

Spent the whole day, from open to close. Had a great time! Saw some animals I’ve never seen at zoos before. I would definitely come back the next time I’m passing through. Food was good and reasonably priced for a zoo. You’re allowed to bring in your own food and drinks which is nice as well. My fitness tracker said I walked 6.7 miles, but there are trams and trains available so you don’t have to walk as much if you don’t want to or can’t.

Great zoo. Lots of kids on field trips this day, lots. Decent food options. Train ride was very short, didn't really see only but a couple animals while riding. Very large zoo, definitely need like 5+ hours if you wanna see everything. Free parking. Worth a visit.

I was visiting my son and daughter in law and we went so they could show me the zoo. It was a fun and enjoyable experience and all the employees were very friendly and helpful. Be sure you take lots of money, there are so many souvenirs and you’ll want to buy a lot!

i LOVE the zoo. for my birthday i was gifted a 1 year membership, so I will be spending lots of time here. its a big zoo, lots of animals and i really like that there are ways to interact(?) with the animals, rather than just look at them. feeding the camels, petting the goats, and the areas where you can go in with the birds and enjoyable. i would rather give a 4.5 stars, because there are a couple of things i don't enjoy. firstly, the choices for food are... pretty mediocre. you cant expect a lot for a zoo, but everything is absurdly overpriced for what it is in some spots, even for a zoo. the tram rides feel like they take actually forever, and the facts they tell you are the same every time. those are the only two complaints i have currently, otherwise everything is good! it also helps that my favorite animal, the rock hyrax, is here. i spend at least 10 minutes just watching them whenever i go.

For those who prefer to minimize extensive walking, the Gold Pass, priced between $8 and $12, is highly recommended as it provides comprehensive access to the entire zoo. The facility boasts a remarkable aquarium featuring sharks, a diverse array of marine life including jellyfish, and a sea turtle named Tortellini. This venue offers significant enjoyment for both parents and children, making it an ideal family outing. Please note that food prices are elevated; therefore, it is advisable to dine prior to your visit, as a hamburger or chicken strip can cost approximately $14. However, the fudge available in the main gift shop is reasonably priced and quite delectable. I recommend sampling the sherbet or cotton candy flavors. Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for my family. Additionally, a wide selection of stuffed animals is available for younger visitors. I trust you will find your visit as delightful as my family did.

An awesome experience for the family. Today's my daughter's 1st birthday and she got to see orangutans sharks and a sea lion show! We saw red pandas and monkeys. We got there a little late so we didn't see the polar bear or elephants or tiger but we saw camels and all kinds of amazing wildlife. She loved it and we can't wait to go back. Its a great place to take your family. The price is highly discounted if you live in Jackson County like I do. So I hope everyone gives it a visit. Thank you KC Zoo!

We have been FOTZ pass holders for 2 years now. We love the zoo and everything it has to offer. Parking is super easy (and free), strollers and wagons are easily navigated through all areas, outside food and drinks is allowed (this is a game changer), and everything is clean. We have come to know and love our zoo friends over the last two summers and are excited to spend more time with them this summer.
