James H. Nance Park

James H. Nance Park is one of the best all-around beachside parks in the area. You’ve got a long stretch of boardwalk—easily around a mile—that runs along the ocean, perfect for walking, relaxing, or just enjoying the view without being right in the sand the whole time. The park itself is very well set up with a solid playground, covered pavilions, and plenty of parking, which makes it great for families, small gatherings, or just a quick stop by the beach. Everything is kept up nicely overall, but like most high-traffic coastal spots, you’ll start to notice a little buildup on some of the walkways and shaded areas over time. Nothing major—just the kind of routine upkeep that keeps a place looking top tier year-round. And you really can’t talk about this place without mentioning Bizzarro Famous New York Pizza right there in the parking lot. Some of the best pizza you’ll find—park and pizza go hand in hand here. You truly can’t have one without the other. Great local spot, great vibe, and definitely worth stopping by whether you’re a local or just passing through.

Great for all times of the day, but we went in the evening time, not too spooky, perfect little boardwalk by the beach, we picked up a pizza and munched while preston defied gravity on the swingset.

I used to love this beach park. $50 parking fine the moment i walked away from my car. I had to download the app so as it was downloading i kept walking to the beach. when I put all my stuff down, I realized this app wants your space number… not your license plate number??? so I had to walk all the way back to my car… and when I got there 5 mins after just leaving my car… i had a $50 ticket. It ruined my whole day. I didn’t have a lot of money to spend so I came to the beach and now I have this hefty fine I can barely afford.. Safe to say I’ll never be back, especially when there’s so many nice free parks down the block.

Great place to come catch the sunrise, grab a bite to eat or get coffee. Clean and safe restrooms with a specific area to rinse your feet. However, you have to pay to park.

So this park for the beach was pretty cool. It's $2.50 an hour which the only way to pay is with a debit card (they do have someone checking the parking to see if you paid). There's a kids playground, a clean restroom with changing area (at lease on the women's side), showers to rinse off outside. Looking at the beach to the right is a pizza place and coldstones ice cream. So it's an excellent location but I would get there early. The beach is clean and beautiful. There were lifeguards there today I'm not sure if they are there everyday.

Nice beach. Good parking options despite being a bit pricey.

Beach is clean mostly, bathrooms are in typical beach conditions from steady traffic. The ocean never really fails you, it’s beautiful and seems endless. I come after 6pm mostly , to avoid the crowds and fine peace.

Beautiful and clean park. Paid parking right outside. Children’s playground is amazing, my kids had a great time. Has a water fountain and dustbins at site. Clean benches to sit on.
