The Carolina Renaissance Festival is one of our favorite fall traditions. The atmosphere is incredible — from the live shows and music to the hilarious street performers and unique shops, there’s never a dull moment. Our kids absolutely loved it (especially the jousting and the giant turkey legs!). Everything was well organized, the staff and performers were friendly, and even with the crowds it felt easy to navigate. Plenty of shaded spots, great food options, and so much for all ages to enjoy. If you’ve never been, go — it’s the perfect mix of history, humor, and family fun!

Visitor notes
It was my first time and I’ll definitely will be back! Lots of food and drink options, the shows were amazing (and hilarious too), I loved the shops and found lots to spend money on! Very family friendly atmosphere and everyone was super friendly and it was a chill vibe, especially with it being so busy (but it didn’t feel overly crowded). Oh, and we loved the games and rides too! Parking was a breeze and we’re going back next weekend!! I can definitely see why people would opt for the season passes 👍
I haven't been in years, and I must say things are different and very cool. I was amazed at how many people were there. The dragon forges were awesome! The birds of prey (Dragon Show) was fantastic! The actors all around did a fantastic job! Thank you for a wonderful day for my family and I!
Cleaning up photos in my phone I realized I totally forgot to post a review on our visit last year. It was our families first time and we had a blast. Such a cool place! So many wonderful sights! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We are hoping to make it back this year as there was a lot we didn't make time to do and see.
I went to the Renaissance Festival in Huntersville honestly feeling a little apprehensive walking in, but I felt foolish about five minutes later when I saw so many fellow blerds out there living their best fantasy lives. The energy was welcoming, fun, and straight up contagious. I had an AMAZING time and honestly have no clue how I’ve lived this long without ever hearing about it properly. First off — HAZZAH to the mead tent. Walking up and hearing the bartender tell someone to “fetch the mead!” like we were in full medieval mode had me grinning ear to ear. Speaking of legendary… those turkey legs? Absolute monsters. Juicy, smoky, perfectly cooked, and when I hit it with that mustard?? Game over. That combo deserves its own royal title. The shows were way more adult-humor than I expected, which caught me off guard in the best way. Definitely not just a kids event. And yes — the mermaids were incredible. Super creative, immersive, and just added to the “where am I right now?” magic of the whole place. Between the food, performances, drinks, and vibe, this is a full day experience. If you’ve never gone — fix that immediately. I’m already planning my next trip back. HAZZAH!
Very fun 🤩 lots of great shows and interesting stuff for sale. One day might not even be enough to see everything 😅 Only downside is there are very long lines everywhere for food and drinks that take up a lot of time. Especially the line for the chimney roll, that line is about an hour and a half wait 😅
If you enjoy a good experience filled with awe you have to check out this Faire! They work hard to keep the atmosphere and interaction alive. I strongly suggest dressing up, even if its just a simple cloak or some elf ears... its so much fun and my favorite part was probably just checking out all the fashion on the visitors as much as the employees. I love how everyone was in the moment and immersed in the experience. Shows are great for a laugh and there's so many to see. Cash is king, but there are ATMs if you don't mind waiting in line. Fair food was actually as expected or better in price and so easy to get access to despite the large crowd on our visit. Games or rides are reasonable at $4-10. Shopping is where you might find yourself in debt. There's some really amazing things but many are on the higher prices end. Parking is plenty and you will be easily directed as you arrive to park. I wasn't worried about the walk as we came to spend the entire day on foot but it may be a lot if your not used to getting in a lot of steps so keep that in mind when choosing shoes. Overall, if your thinking about it, just do it!
This was such an amazing experience. The atmosphere, the aesthetics, the employees, the performances were all top notch. Even with the crowds there was so much space that walking around was easy and it didn't feel like cattle going through a chute. There's so much to see and experience that it's hard to do it all in one day. Will definitely be back again next season.
