Abe's Cajun Market

We are very familiar with the original Abe's Cajun Market in Lake Charles! We accidentally found this one while looking for a place to eat on a recent trip to Clear Lake. The staff is great, the atmosphere is wonderful and of course the food is out of this world! We will definitely be going back and highly recommend it to you if you love cajun food and find yourself near Clear Lake!

Pleasantly surprised! My Seafood Platter had fresh domestic shrimp, actually edible imported crawfish - I asked - a rarity 🙄 and a decent little fish filet. We prefer Louisiana crawfish! Boudin balls were good, but their andouille is nothing like the great andouille that's made in La Place, La. Fatty, fine ground and low on spices/flavor, it's a pass compared to good andouille! Overall a decent value. Not a fan of self service but they exceeded my modest expectations! Very pretty, fresh salads, and an Abita root beer to boot!!

The the gentleman that help me at the register was training. He was very nice and the lady helping him was respectful. I had the soup, ceasar salad, and 1/4 muffaletta. My friend had a bowl of chicken and sausage gumbo.

Cant believe I'm just now starting to eat here! Cannot wait to explore this throw back spots menu! Great service 👏

Let me start by saying this is one of my favorite spots so I travel from North Houston to Clear Lake about once a month. I love almost everything here... The staff is very friendly and inviting... I came here for my Bday on July 6 and Brought my Mother back on July 8th for her Birthday... I was disappointed that they were out of the baked potatos being that was one of the only things there I have not tried...The only reason they are getting 4 stars instead of 5 is they stopped serving real catfish for Swai. This is a Louisiana based restaurant and should not be serving Swai as catfish..the texture of the Swai fish is too soft and that was the only thing we did not like... Please go back to real catfish. I will probably be back for that potato this weekend and they have this pineapple cream soda on the fountain that is one of my favs...Everytime I come I have to order the salads to go...but the New Orleans style shrimp salad is my favorite. Go to Abes! You will not regret it

Alright I know I give a lot of five star reviews… but this is well earned!! The portions of food are huge so it’s a great value! All the food was really good! The service was soo nice!! I really felt like I was in the heart of the south with all the nice southern hospitality. The counter service is really convenient and well done.

Have been coming here with my family for many years. Always a great meal! I have tried so many things on the menu, all of it is excellent. Not only is the Cajun food top-notch, but the desserts are unbelievable! The juxtaposition of those huge decadent desserts next to the counter where I order gumbo, blows your mind! In a good way!

I have been coming here for years and it’s been consistently one of the best Cajun restaurants in the area. They make shrimps po-boys with popcorn shrimp like I am use to in south Louisiana. Etouffee is excellent and gumbo is delicious. Can’t go wrong with shrimp or crawfish platter.
