Aztec Pet Hospital

We relocated to Texas, from Wisconsin, in August 2022, with our two male senior cats (then aged 11 and 15). Our older cat had stage 3 kidney disease, and all of the vets we saw there were wonderful and knowledgeable and helped us keep our cat's kidney disease stable for another 16 months. In October 2023, his kidney disease progressed and he was given 3-6 months. He made it through the holidays and in early January 2024, at 17 years old, he crossed the rainbow bridge. My other male is now turning 15 and has stage 2 kidney disease. Again everyone at Aztec is being very wonderful and helping us navigate this road again. I also have two 4 year old female cats that I bring to Aztec for all their checkups and vaccinations, and everyone treats them very well. I am so happy that I decided to start going to Aztec after we moved here! Attached pictures are Caper (female- gray brown tabby), Cayenne (female- calico and white), Oliver (male- orange tabby).

We've had an amazing time since we switched to Aztec. We are so fortunate to have been see by Dr. Vaden who took our case (Winry with the ears) so seriously, which was refreshing as previous vets basically did band aid solutions for us. Very knowledgeable staff and caring. We love Aztec. Our dogs are in great hands there.

This is our second time living in central Texas and we came back to Aztec Pet Hospital for our dog and cat’s care without hesitation. They are always so kind and friendly, the prices are very reasonable, and they do not ever recommend unnecessary care. Both of our animals love coming for their appointments and I know they are always in the best of hands.

Most importantly, my pet received excellent care and was treated with kindness and respect at every step. I absolutely Love Aztec Pet Hospital. I've been taking my babies there for all their health care needs since 1992. Three generations of dachshunds!!! They do it all, nail trimming, vaccines, heart care, dental, surgery. Hands down best in Central Texas!

My dog is currently here and being cared for with Parvo. So this review is upon my initial experience today. I had a feeling Otis was sick last night with the virus. We woke up and tried to get him in with several clinics because we did not yet have a veterinarian for him. The places we called would not see him until Wed. I knew he needed to be treated ASAP. They were kind on the phone and had us bring him In within the hour. They confirmed Parvo and the doctor went over the treatment thoroughly, giving us options as to how aggressive we could treat parvo. He let us know we had lower cost options, but we opted for the best one we could. Our family has already fallen in love with him and we don't want to be without him. The treatment was expensive, but in all fairness about the same as other clinics, give or take. They told us they would call every afternoon to give us an update. On my way home tonight I recieved a call, she let us know how things were going and answered my questions. I thought that was thoughtful and hadn't planned on hearing from them until tomorrow. I feel hopeful they will do their best to save our baby. I definitely will be making this our home clinic. They seem to be very Compassionate people.

Dr. Sims and the the Aztec crew saved my little old man. He became sick very quickly, and we were not sure if he would pull through. Dr. Sims showed so much care for our “pup”; she rooted for him every step of the way. She was thorough and diligent with answering my questions and validating my feelings throughout the process. She kept me updated, was upfront with what we needed to know to make informed decisions about his care, and was reassuring and incredibly supportive the entire time. She is genuine and shows an authentic passion for healing. One of the things that stands out for me about her is that she showed up for our family not just our dog but the humans too; she was patient-centered, professional and present with every interaction we had with her. I am truly forever grateful to her. I, unequivocally, would recommend Aztec Pet Hospital, Dr. Sims and the crew. ——————— Thank you to the front desk and administrative staff; I am disappointed that I cannot remember all of their names to mention. They warmly greeted us every time we came in and showed genuine care for my pup and addressed him as well. I felt reassured when I had to drop him off in the early morning and knew that no matter what that he would be cared for. The front desk and administrative staff at any establishment are sometimes overlooked, but they are an incredible heart beat, if not, THE heart that keeps things running while the other parts can do their vital functions in the process. I cannot thank them enough for their support and positive vibes for our family when we needed it most. The office manager was thorough in explaining the administrative part to us and helped us to be as informed as possible so that we could feel comfortable with our decisions. ——————— Shout out to the vet techs who played a HUGE part in the positive outcome for our boy. I do not know all of their names but wish I could thank each one personally for the love they showed. Whenever I came in or if they knew who my fur baby was, I always received upbeat and positive well wishes for his recovery. Venus and the tech “N” (I think) kept me updated with his progress, and I could tell they must have been so sweet to my boy. It definitely seems and felt like my little guy had his own cheerleading squad in the back. I wanted to give a special thanks to Crystal, the vet tech, as well. She was there at the beginning and fortunately got to close the loop and see him at the time of our discharge home as well. She was so attentive and I could tell she treated our pup with so much love. She kept me updated when he ate and based on her messages I could tell she was just as excited and shouting out with happiness about his progress as much as I was. She was diligent, patient, supportive and reassuring. She answered my questions and validated my feelings. I felt comfortable without a doubt that my pup was in good hands with all of the techs watching over him. ———— Thank you to Dr. Cabral for her care of my pup. She made sure I understood the options and was supportive and thorough. ———— Thank you to Dr. Keegan. He happened to see me while I was there at the clinic. After hearing the situation, he expressed support and well wishes for our pup. I am thankful for his support and taking the time to check in on me. He has helped with our other pup’s ears before, and I had not written a review for him at the times. I definitely want to thank him for his exceptional care for our other pup before when she has needed it. He has always been upfront and helped me to understand the treatment options well. Best vet in town… the doctors really know what they are doing…. However Rebecca a front desk can use some coaching when dealing with customers! It’s really annoying for have someone roll there eyes at you you ask to pick up a prescription… I understand having a bad day or not wanting to do your job but the customer come first and this shouldn’t have happened! She was even more annoyed then I told her I was using care credit….
