Simply amazing..... To be a kid again at any age. This place IS a must on your 1st or returning trip to the Mississippi Gulf Coast!!! From the outside activities and all the inside activities that let's kids explore and have fun without the use of tablets, phones, and other electronic devices. Let them unplug and have some fun meeting new people to work on their social skills and creative thinking. The community Sponsors truly did and are doing a fabulous job funding and supporting a worthy cause. Let's continue to support STEMM. Come on out military families and bring your kids, friends, and grandparents. Laughter and fun awaits.
I spent the day here with my family and we had a blast. The museum kept my 7 year old and 5 year old busy for hours. There's no cafe, but they allowed us to do our own picnic lunch at the picnic tables. Most of the exhibits were in good working order. Children are constantly testing the exhibits so it makes sense to me that not everything was working as intended. Also, the tree house was being worked on at the time of our visit, but happy to see improvement and repair taking place. The art studio let us build a craft and the kids loved it. We closed out the day at the splash pad. $60 for the day for the family and we got our money's worth. My only gripe is that the power button for the splash pad needs a sign or something painted on the ground.
Super fun, organization reaches a variety of age interactions. Well staffed in every area. Super safe environment, opportunity for indoor and outdoor engagement. My one concern was the water pressure at the splash Pad area. Not sure if intentional for the younger kiddos but could stand to provide a lil better flow. However the picnic area was perfect for lunch.
I love this center especially because they have sections for all little ones. My now 3year old and 11 year old still go and love it! It isn't just a fun place to go, but also educational which just makes it better!! This is the place for a family gathering that entertains more than one age group. Especially in the summer time when that splash pad is open!!
A wonderful experience with beautiful music. A great event for families, in an intimate setting. The musicians were incredible and made time to connect with the audience. Very talented! Highly recommend any Candlelight event. We will go again.
We traveled over from Mobile, AL because we’ve heard such great things. We were not disappointed. We came about 2pm on a Saturday and it was perfect. We had most of the place to ourselves. It was nice and clean. My 5 year old loved everything inside. Then we headed to the splash pad. We will be back for sure.
We had a fantastic time at the Discovery Center today! While it is geared towards younger kids, my 8 year old daughter & 11 year old son had a blast! We spent a good 2.5/3 hours there! It is SO clean! They especially loved the Art room, that was actually a highlight to the day. I love that we were allowed to leave, and come back since I didn’t realize we could bring food/drinks in. If you have smaller children, this is a must to bring them to get energy out. The grounds are beautiful as well, and it is quite a peaceful place. Well worth the money.
My daughter and her family have been annual members here for a while. So we've come here quite frequently with our grandchildren. The visit last week was met with a hiccup. They were quite busy ... children are out of school, and they also host a summer camp, which is phenomenal. The hiccup came when I approached an employee about service in the restrooms. They were out of soap, and they were out of paper towels. I was told that the entire facility was out of those things.
I don't know if that employee didn't want to tend to the facility or if they genuinely were out of supplies. I did not go to a manager. I didn't cause more of a fuss, but if you're going to be hosting a camp with what seemed to be a couple hundred children in that facility, you definitely need hand towels and soap in the restroom and attention from your staff.
