Edsel and Eleanor Ford House is one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I’ve visited around Metro Detroit. The house itself is stunning, with so much detail in the architecture and design that you can tell a lot of thought went into it. Walking through the rooms feels personal, like you’re seeing how the family actually lived rather than just a display. The grounds are just as impressive, especially along the lake, with perfectly maintained gardens and quiet views that make you want to take your time. Everything is well organized and the staff are helpful without being overbearing. It’s a relaxing experience and definitely worth visiting at least once.
Great visit to this beautiful historic home and estate. The docents were very helpful and friendly. The home is well cared for and plenty of information is available as you explore. The only negative was an abundance of Canada goose droppings- literally everywhere on the grounds around the home.
Beautiful property. Visited for a shelter fundraiser which is amazing that they host events like that. I am a huge animal lover so being able to walk around the property with my doggies made me really happy.
Amazing grounds and awesome history! The home is lovely and the grounds include gardens and Lake St. Claire! The majority of the pathways are disability accessible.
This was an amazing place to visit and we were impressed by how every detail was thought of. The docents were plentiful and full of information and interesting stories about the history of the estate and the Edsel and Eleanor Ford family. We ate in the wonderful restaurant in the welcome center and enjoyed a delicious meal and attentive service. The gift shop was bright and full of beautiful remembrances! Our shuttle driver was very friendly and we appreciated her tips and kind suggestions. We especially enjoyed going to the garage and seeing Edsel Ford’s personal collection of cars that were more like artwork!
I would highly recommend visiting this wonderful estate.

Great place to spend a nice afternoon also you can eat in the restaurant. Everyone was very nice and polite. Pet friendly!!
