The Skunk Train

We did the electric rail bikes. Plenty of parking at the train station. You have to get your ticket and fill out a waiver then walk across the parking lot to the rail bikes. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The instructions on how to operate the rail bikes were easy to follow. We left around 10:00 a.m. and returned around 12:30 p.m. It was a beautiful ride through the redwoods to a rest area. They give you an hour to explore the area. We took a guided tour with Windsong, she was very nice and provided information as we hiked about a mile. We were there on 4th of July. The skunk train arrived while we were on our hike. We were allowed to walk onto the train to look around. The train was newly painted for the 250th. This was a wonderful way to sight see. Although it's a rail bike you don't really have to pedal. Which was fine with me.

I like this train ride through the tall redwood forest! Very serene! The GlenBlair Bar is fantastic with its fire rings and lighting. Very good place for drinkers but not for just tourists! If the tickets can include a buffet BBQ, it will definitely draw more tourists to it. People couldn’t spend time just watching and listening to music! If a buffet is included, an evening out there with food will be unsurpassable! Consider the ticket is over $72, make it $100 with All you can eat Buffet BBQ with meat and seafood. Compensate a little from the fares part for the buffet will not hurt the profits! Plus more people will drink beer and wine with BBQ!

One of the coolest adventures ever! We had a fabulous time on the Skunk Train! The ride was fun, scenic, and well worth the trip. The staff were friendly, entertaining, and really helped make the experience enjoyable. My only suggestion would be for the snack concession area. It might work even better with its own caboose and a center aisle or bypass lane so guests who decide not to wait in line can easily move through without impeding those entering or exiting the concession area. Other than that, everything was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be coming back again! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and memorable adventure, some great views and shopping. 🚂🌲

We took the Skunk train to Glen Blair Bar. The train is charming and my kid loved it. The bar in the woods was great overall (lots of space, chairs, fire pits, live music, etc.) However, the train ride is very short and overpriced. By the time the 3rd train arrived at the bar site, only 1 of the 2 bars were open, creating a ridiculously long line. Also, if you wait for the final return train (they only run hourly), they will make you wait an additional 20-30 min to board as they have to grab the container cars that they converted into restrooms. Making your paying customers wait that long for a 10 min ride back to the station is unacceptable. I'd go again because my kiddo loved it but the value proposition is poor.

The Railbikes on the Noyo experience was excellent! Our guides Sochi and Atlas were terrific, educational and made the experience even better. We loved her nature explanation down the hike to the bikes and pointing out different mushrooms, slugs, trees that we would not have noticed. The picnic lunch at Camp Noyo was a relaxing stop next to the river. Although it’s a 5-hr day, it went by quickly and was a great workout! There is a shorter option if you want a quicker trip but we loved this one… We highly recommend this experience!

I have been wanting to visit Fort Bragg specifically for this experience and it was well worth it! My husband and I booked the train ride for the Glen Blair bar in the evening on a Saturday. The ride does advertise that it's an hour round trip, but it's more like a 15-20 minute ride each way. If you are doing the Glen Blair Bar experience, I recommend attending the 6:30 ride so you can see the beautiful woods in the daylight and enjoy the sunset. You will also get first dibs for seats and the bar since you will be the first group there. The bar line does get longer as the other groups start arriving. Also dress appropriately for the cooler evening weather. It does get chilly. I recommend sitting by the fire pits. We had a lovely experience and actually stayed the whole time until we had to leave at 10:30. We got to meet new people, sit around a roaring outdoor fire and enjoy drinks in the middle of the beautiful redwoods! What more can you ask for? I definitely recommend this experience.

We did the Pudding Creek Skunk Train with threes kids ages 8, 6 & 2. It was so fun and the perfect length of time on the train (about 20 min one way, a 45 min stop at Glen Bair and then you go back the same way). I wish there was more time at a Glen Bair to explore but we enjoyed it.

My friend and I did the Pudding Creek Railbikes experience and absolutely LOVED it. Johnny and Travis were outstanding guides and you can really tell that they’re passionate about what they do. Travis even gave us an impromptu tour-guide experience on the Glen Blair trail loop and shared so many cool facts about the local nature (Trillium flowers, oxalis/false clover, redwood trees merging). We highly recommend doing this if you’re near the area!! People in our group had kids and dogs and all managed very well. Everyone had a great time and it’s so worth the money!
