You can tell this zoo used to be so amazing back in its prime but it is in desperate need of funding, more staff and a refresher. The bones of the place are so cool, but it was soooo understaffed, almost all the food shops, carousel, and pop up places are closed, a few animal exhibits are closed off or missing. They seem to treat the animals well and i genuinely think are doing the best they can at the moment but they need more attention and funding. They should definitely advertise the Przewalski horses more, i had no idea they had such an amazing animal so close to extinction and they don’t just have one, they have a mated pair with a baby and what appears to be another on the way ! I think if they came across a good donation or two and definitely a new map (the current one is a bit out of date and confusing) they would have a star on there hands

It’s affordable, I went on a weekend early in the morning. They have a splash pad for kids, restrooms throughout the zoo, places to sit and places to get snacks and drinks. They have a playground for children but it was closed . They have set times for when they interact with the animals! My husband and I enjoyed ourselves. They take military discount also . We there for about 2-3 hours . I bought the tickets 30 mins before showing up.

Love love love this zoo!!! The animals are well taken care of and the staff really takes their time on individual animal enrichment. The enclosures are clean and spacious, prices are reasonable, the crowds are never overwhelming, and there is a large selection of animals spanning multiple continents to learn about. We have been twice this year, and will continue to visit! We also picked out a new family member from Cats at the Zoo during our last trip. So, if you are in the new market for a new furbaby, adoptions are FREE! With the understanding that no pet is ever truly free of course. I could spend hours at this zoo watching the orangutans and enjoy the big cat exhibits as well. If you're looking for a nice family outing, look no further than the El Paso Zoo!

The best part of the zoo is the you’ll find a lot of big trees so amazing shadows and benches to take breaks. The water splash was the most enjoyable part for my daughter. We didn't see the giraffe in 6 hours that we spent in there. Good food affordable prices. It's a beautiful carousel there too.

I recently visited the El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens and overall had a decent experience. The zoo has a good variety of animals, and it’s nice to see species like the penguins and big cats up close. The grounds are fairly clean and it’s a pleasant place to walk around, especially if you’re visiting with family or kids. That said, some areas could definitely use improvements. A few exhibits felt a little small or outdated, and at times some animals weren’t very active or visible. On busy weekends it can also get a bit crowded, which makes it harder to enjoy certain exhibits. Overall, it’s a nice local attraction and worth visiting if you’re in El Paso, but there’s still room for improvements to make the experience even better. I’d consider coming back again in the future to see how it continues to develop.

Zo was so pretty!! Missed the giraffs but all.in all very fun. Took about 2hrs to walk it. Not expensive either. It's clean and animals look healthy. Will definitely go back!!

The zoo has a variety of different animals from different continents. It has a splash pad and a playground but the playground is currently under construction. If you pay money you can do a ropes course or ride a carousel. You are also able to do encounters with animals like the penguins, tortoises, giraffes and more. If you want to do one of these encounters you have to sign up the day before, before 2:00 P.M. Overall pretty good experience, animals were active.

This is a small zoo that deserves stronger support locally. I am glad we went but it was apparent that the zoo has seen better days. There is great potential here but it must receive better support to reach that potential.
