We did the "interior treasures" Chicago architecture tour with John I. He was a great tour guide! The tour was informative, interesting, and a great opportunity to see some beautiful architecture in downtown. It's a lot of walking but mostly flat with some steps but manageable. We were visiting but also went with native Chicagoans who really enjoyed it too. Highly recommended!

Lovely architecture exhibition downstairs but it was quite small, entry fee was $10 as a student, I went with my 3 architecture buddies so I was surrounded by experts 🤣👍🏻 the staff were very helpful and insightful, there is a very informative summary video of Chicago’s architecture history. Would recommend for someone in the city with an hour to spare.

Of course, every city has some pride in its history and development. The CAC proudly takes this to a completely new level with your experiences conducted by knowledgeable, enthusiastic volunteers. We took our fourth tour today [they've all been great]. Today's was "Historic Treasures of Chicago's Golden Age": our guide was Alice. She was so friendly and welcoming! Two hours took us on a moderately paced walk around and inside a collection of iconic buildings - helping us understand the convergence of time, place, architechture, powerful personalities and money. We learned about design features, and how they evolved over time after the Great Fire of 1871, and the importance of the Columbian Exhibition and World's Fair of 1893.

The "Women in Architecture" Riverwalk tour is an essential experience for anyone who wants to see the Chicago skyline through a new lens. It’s a wonderful tribute to the female architects who have left an indelible mark on our riverfront. This was my second time being on a tour led by MaryJo, and she continues to be the gold standard for CAC docents. Her storytelling is masterful; she doesn't just give you dates and names, she builds a narrative that keeps you engaged from start to finish. Her passion for the subject is infectious. If you see her name on the schedule, book it immediately—you won’t be disappointed!

The architecture tours offered by the center provide a fun, insightful, and unconventional way to explore the city, highlighting the rich histories and architectural styles of its iconic modern buildings.

Attended the 10am 5/11/26 tour w/ Captain Cat & our historian on the boat, Harry! Captain Cat was a great host providing all the housekeeping rules and keeping all of us on the vessel safe! Harry, the legend, providing us with history, smiles and giggles here and there! Amazing all-around! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Keep doing what you do, Chicago! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
