Blowfish Sushi & Ramen Chicago

Blowfish has become our go to spot for sushi and ramen, and for good reason. The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. We have tried a variety of menu items and honestly have not found anything we didn't enjoy. The portion sizes are generous, and the quality of the ingredients really stands out in every dish. The drinks are also excellent and pair perfectly with the meal, though they can be a little dangerous for the wallet because they're so tempting to order. The staff are always friendly, attentive, and happy to accommodate special requests, which makes every visit even more enjoyable. If you enjoy spicy food, you'll especially love this place because they do not hold back on the heat. Between the outstanding food, great service, generous portions, and overall value, Blowfish is an easy recommendation for anyone looking for solid Japanese cuisine.

My friend and I visited this restaurant for the first time and we weren’t disappointed 😄. I had their calamari and wagyu roll. My friend had their tofu shoyu ramen and a classic roll. Everything was DELICIOUS! Definitely recommend.

My favorite local sushi spot! These flavors will take you for a joyous ride on the sushi train that you will simply not want to disembark from. Great menu with a vast array of options. Very fair prices for great quality food. The Kara-age chicken is a standout for sure. Love this place!

Hands down my favorite ramen spot. The sushi is great too from the few times I’ve had it but in all honesty I mainly come here for the ramen haha. The Beef Brisket Ramen is killer and the bowls are fairly large so if you don’t have a huge appetite you can easily split a bowl. I also always get the stuffed avo. They used to be across the street, I had a slight preference to that location. Although it was smaller it was definitely more cozy. The booths are not really comfortable no lower back support. Definitely recommend checking them out! Staff is always super friendly.

Blowfish was beyond our expectations! We started with the aloha and tsunami roll which were both beautifully done. We then were pleasantly surprised by our mains: the black garlic tonkatsu ramen bowl and the best ever flaming tuna poke bowl. We then finished with a chocolate drizzled mochi. Everything was served to perfection and the staff was wonderful and attentive.

amazing service. we were seated right away and our food came out fast. i was having a hard time choosing between the flaming tuna and the salmon sunrise poke bowl. i ultimately chose the tuna, but i hope they consider adding an option with a mix of fish. the food was good, but i think the quality of the fish was just okay. for the price point, it’s not bad at all

Money well spent! I had the spicy beef brisket ramen. It has a kick but I wish it could have been a little bit more spicy. It’s perfect for those who have a more sensitive palate. The calamares, I highly recommend. It was cooked to perfection!

The food was absolutely superb! We ordered the Calamares, Classic Tonkatsu Ramen, and Spicy Beef Brisket Ramen, and every dish was flavorful and satisfying. The service was excellent, the place felt very cozy, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. We’ll definitely be coming back! ❤️
