defloured: A Gluten Free Bakery

Fantastic, gluten-free bakery! I ordered my specialty cake online, the process was exactly as they said it would be. Super streamlined and simple. The cake itself was absolutely delicious! The texture of it was like a normal, homemade cake. Not dry at all like some GF cakes. The bakers nailed the Max and Ruby theme! Extremely happy with the entire experience. The cake was one of the best cakes any of us has ever had!

This place is amazing. The pizza is so good, and the lemon blueberry loaf was incredibly soft. I’ve tried a lot of gluten free bakeries and this one is worth the stop. Absolutely everything here is amazing. The service is also very quick and friendly.

Check this place out! If you have food allergies this place is amazing as there are so many choices! If you don't have food allergies this place has an amazing selection! I stumbled on it on St. Patrick's when I was looking for soda bread and most bakeries has sold out. This bakery was also sold out, but the owner said she would make more and to come by in an hour. I felt guilty at first but took her up on the offer and I am glad I did. This place is now a twice a month occasion to load up on goodies. TL:DR get one of everything and thank me later!

Loved this cake! Looked exactly how I wanted it to, tasted delicious, and was so easy to order over email. This was a gf cake (not vegan) but the vegan cakes are also just as tasty

We LOVED our wedding cake from defloured! We chose an almond cake and strawberry frosting and it came out amazing - from the design to the flavor. We would recommend Defloured to anyone for their wedding cake - gluten free or not!

I’ve had hit or miss experiences here. Overall I’ve enjoyed most of the things I’ve gotten, and I’ll always support a gluten free bakery, but they do have a consistency/quality issue when it comes to freshness. First time I got the oatmeal sandwich cookie it was DELICIOUS, the cookies were so chewy and frosting was nice and soft. Second time the cookies were legit hard as a rock. They have a ton of variety in stock at all times, so it seems impossible for everything to be made fresh, and the cookie confirmed that for me. I’m bummed that I spent the same amount of money for something that is obviously stale. They should focus on quality over variety so they aren’t selling things that are day+ old.

Phenomenal. I've been gluten free for about 7 years and have tried several gluten free bakeries throughout the Chicagoland area (I actually live in the burbs), and nothing compares to defloured. The other bakeries are good, this one is great. My husband, who is not gluten free, tried the bars and cake pops that I brought home and agreed - they don't even taste gluten free! They have so many traditional and uniquely flavored baked goods, i.e. seven layer bars, butter bars, peanut butter chocolate chip bars, challah bread, baguettes, scones....goods that I've never seen other gf bakeries attempt. I highly highly recommend making the drive if you're not nearby. It's worth it.

Really friendly staff and just amazing gluten free goodies. We are down on the South Side and try to find every excuse we can to to get some Defloured. My husband isn't even gluten free and he said the corn bread is probably some of the best he has ever had ! (of any corn bread). They have amazing scones and his favorite is the cosmic brownie.
