The Winery at Bull Run

We did the wine tasting and stayed for a couple of glasses. Bonnie helped us and she was SO nice and made this experience a 10/10!! It was honestly the best winery I’ve been to because I felt like Bonnie tried to connect with us on a personal level and not just in customer service. Wine was amazing and the place is super cute.

If you’re coming to Winery at Bull Run for the wine, I’ll be honest: it’s perfectly drinkable, but nothing particularly memorable, and the prices feel high for the quality. That said, if you’re looking for a pleasant weekend outing, there are some things worth knowing before you go. The property is divided into separate seating areas depending on whether you’re visiting with adults only, children, or pets. Adults have access to the shaded area closest to the live music. Families with children are directed to a different section that, during our visit, had little shade and no ability to hear the music. Guests with dogs are assigned to yet another area, which was near the trash collection area and unfortunately had a significant number of black flies. Service was adequate, but I wouldn’t describe it as especially warm or hospitality-focused. One surprise was the water situation. If you’re planning to enjoy wine responsibly and stay hydrated, bring your own water. There are no complimentary water stations available, and staff informed us that the on-site water is not potable. The only option was to purchase bottled water, which felt disappointing given the outdoor setting and the summer heat. Overall, the grounds are attractive and the location is convenient, but the experience felt heavily dependent on which section you were assigned to. I’d return for the scenery and company, but with different expectations—and a cooler full of water.

My friend group did a historic wine tour and Michelle is the best tour guide ever! Go see her. We loved the winery.

Met friends for a retirement party and it was lovely. My wine loving friends all left with a bottle or two of their favorites. The staff made accommodations for us under the pavilion area due to drizzling rainy weather (allowing our food ) which we appreciated so much. Staff very nice and helpful. Wines were enjoyed by our group and the picnic grounds areas with room to run and play enjoyed by the children. Thank you for making our event so pleasant and successful Bull Run staff.

Everything about this winery was beautiful, accommodating, friendly and comfortable. The wine was top quality and their tasting menu had many choices.

Dude, the Winery at Bull Run is freaking sweet. First off, the wine—holy crap—it’s like they took grapes, made them classy, and then made them awesome. I don’t even like sharing, but I’d almost let Kenny have a sip. Almost. They’ve got so many kinds of wine it’s like a Pokémon thing—you just want to try them all. The staff? These people actually know what they’re talking about. You ask them something about tannins or vintage, and they don’t look at you like you’re a moron. They’re nice too, which is weird, because usually people who know stuff act all fancy. And the outdoor setup? Perfect. You can sit there, crush one of their house pizzas, and sip your wine while pretending you’re better than everyone else. It’s like adult Disneyland but with less screaming kids and more Merlot. 10 out of 10. Would go again, unless Kyle’s there, because he ruins everything.

Absolutely great Value for the wine tasting! We got to try 3 whites and 3 reds, they definitely have some unique flavors to offer there. The view was stunning with the leaves 🍁 changing colors in the fall weather! Their staffs were super knowledgeable and helpful! Just wish they could offer flyer set to take away instead of standing at the bar. Felt kinda rushed. They have food trucks offer foods on the side. You could see horses if you are lucky. Highly recommended in DMV area!
