Martha's Country Bakery

I usually get their small fruit tarts which is one of my favorites, so I had my boyfriend preorder a 10in for my mother for Mother’s Day… we were so disappointed. The cake had a thicker than normal layer at the bottom, which tasted raw. Not enough custard to balance out the fruits or the base. I felt as if I was eating a raw cookie with a bunch of fruits on top. More effort could have been put into it.

Perfect for a quick Friday night cake run. The grab and go process is very easy. The Tiramisu is definitely the best and the brownie cheesecake is delicious too. The Oreo layer cake was just okay and didn't stand out as much. A solid late night spot in the neighborhood!

I go here once a month as a treat to myself. I usually get the tirimisu slice and a iced vanilla Chai. The combo is so good. However they didn't have the tirimisu last time i went so I tried the 7 layer. Definitely good. The staff is always so sweet. The restaurant is always clean.

Martha's Country Bakery is a place offering a wide array of delicious options. On my previous visits to Williamsburg, I had tried—and enjoyed—many of their products, including the birthday cakes I would typically purchase to take away. This time, however, I sat at one of the tables inside. While the items I ordered were once again very tasty, I was completely dissatisfied with the service; only one person was working the floor, and the service was extremely slow. I waited a long time just to pay the bill; I was forced to wait even longer because the staff member was unable to process the transaction, despite trying with two different POS terminals. Since the total amount was not particularly high, I ended up paying in cash, but it still resulted in a significant waste of my time.

Martha’s bakery boasts a very sweet and pretty much an entirely dessert menu. The vibe was superb with a well designed seating area complete with rustic wood and exposed brick walls with comfortable countryside like furniture and cozy lighting. All the desserts are on display for patrons to peruse. You can order counter side or be served by their delightful staff at a table. We ordered an American coffee which unfortunately was just mediocre and a Mexican hot chocolate which was excellent. We also ordered an eclair which was good, I enjoyed the plentiful eclair custard but the chocolate ganache on top was pretty basic and the choux pastry shell was just okay but it held its own coming out of the display fridge. The cannoli we ordered was just okay overall, nothing to really write home about. Last but not least were the macarons which were superb! They had the perfect blend of texture with gentle crisp outside and a soft and slightly chewy inside. They were slightly larger than average macarons and had good appearance, all of which was outdone by a delicious balance of flavor and sweetness that a good macaron should have. Good service, a good atmosphere and the macarons help push this review to 4 stars and prompt a future visit back to try some of their cakes next time. Would be nice to see better coffee served and perhaps some more neutral or salty food options on the menu.

I really love the coffee and pastries at Martha’s Country Bakery — they’re always fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. However, the service this time just wasn’t as good as I expected. The staff didn’t seem very attentive, and it took longer than usual to get what I ordered. I still enjoy the place, but I hope the service can improve to match the quality of the food.

Wow — this place is a real bakery! I visited early in the morning as one of the first customers, and I could see freshly made breads being delivered out to other locations — it gave me a lot of trust in their quality. Every pastry looked amazing and was filled generously for the price. I ordered the blueberry pie, and it was packed with real blueberries — not overly sweet, just perfectly balanced. You can tell this bakery takes pride in doing things honestly and with care. So many delicious pastries to choose from — I highly recommend this place!

I love their triple chocolate mousse cake here and any of their cheesecakes. I also love that they have creme brulee it's my favorite dessert. Takeout is even easy and ordering a cake on the fly.
