Took our 6 year old Shihpoo here and she left extremely energetic and happy! Booking was incredibly easygoing and fast as we booked the night before. We opted for a low maintenance teddy bear cut with #4 guard while keeping her rounded face. Grooming included nail trimming, ear cleaning, and a bath that left Icey smelling extremely fresh! Overall grooming took 3 hours of wait time and they were able to hold her with no extra charge even though I was running late to pick her up. Would come back again!

They were able to reschedule my appointment to a same day when I realized my pup would probably need a grooming sooner than I had anticipated. Easy intake, reasonable prices, and he looked fantastic after his groom!! Will definitely come back
I am very happy with Brooklyn Pet Spa! Midnight Star always looks amazing after her appointments. Never a problem booking. Gabriela is always welcoming upon arrival. I like that they take a picture before the grooming and confirm my requests before starting.
Brought my Persian cat here to get groomed and it was great! He has never been groomed/shaved before, and he looks so good! Fast service and my kitty is happy, We will definitely be back! Thank you!
I’ve been bringing my 55 lb Goldendoodle to Brooklyn Pet Spa for about an almost a year now because I wanted to find a groomer who could maintain his long coat instead of shaving him. The first two visits went well, but after that my experience changed dramatically. My dog has NEVER been severely matted. Like most Goldendoodles, he occasionally gets knots that require regular brushing. On third visit, I was suddenly told he was “severely matted” and that he needed to be shaved completely. As a newer dog owner in NYC, I trusted their judgment. When I picked him up, he had been shaved almost to the skin. I was honestly heartbroken. I cried leaving the shop because I believed I had failed my dog. Came a fourth time and they said he was matted AGAIN. I hesitated and almost left but I needed my dog to be groomed as I had a trip planned. After that experience, I educated myself on proper Goldendoodle coat maintenance. I purchased the recommended slicker brush and metal comb and learned how to properly line-brush his coat. Since then, I’ve realized there’s a big difference between having a few knots and being so severely matted that a full shave is the only humane option. What has been most frustrating is the inconsistency in pricing. Grooming for my dog started around $170, then increased to $200–220, and now I was quoted $262 before tip. Dematting has also been quoted differently each visit. One time I paid $30, and this most recent visit I was told it would be $80 for what I felt was a similar amount of tangles. The pricing has never felt consistent or clearly explained. It’s a la carte. Coming from Miami, I understand New York is more expensive. However, the groomers I used there charged one all-inclusive price that covered the bath, drying, ears, sanitary trim, paw pads, haircut, and working through minor tangles. They never tried negotiating or adding on. Here, I felt like many services were treated as separate add-ons, which made each visit significantly more expensive than I expected. Another thing I’ve noticed is that many Goldendoodles seem to leave with very short “summer cuts,” even during colder months. That may be appropriate for some dogs, but because I specifically asked to preserve my dog’s coat whenever possible, it was disappointing to repeatedly be told shaving was the preferred solution. Ultimately, I no longer feel confident or safe bringing my dog here. He also hates going. I just found another groomer in Manhattan who specializes in Goldendoodles, explained their coat maintenance process in detail, and quoted me a comparable all-inclusive price without immediately recommending a shave. And said all coats are manageable unless Matts are stuck on skin. My dog is FAR from that. If you’re looking for a groomer that specializes in maintaining a long Goldendoodle coat, I would encourage you to shop around and compare options before committing. Unfortunately, based on my experience, Brooklyn Pet Spa doesn’t care to create client relationships just transactions. It’s easier to shave a golden doodle and charge you 190$ than to actually groom them. They’re clerking. They’ll claim to run a “comb” and blow dryer and say they’re severely matted and then say the use of a slicker brush for knots is apparently $80 additional. The sad part is I know the owner genuinely cares for his business but the groomers and front of don’t.
Brooklyn Pet Spa Pet Grooming Brooklyn is friendly, clean, and super convenient. I had a slightly complicated schedule and they were able to accommodate me!! The staff are welcoming, and drop‑off is easy. My dog always looks great after dog grooming. Highly recommend.
Overall a poor experience for my dog - Neglect of Needs Groom/Bath: Wonderful! Nice job Service: - No walks for the dogs / No bathroom area - They did not respect my dog's need for wearing his shoes so he doesn't slip - They did not walk my dog; Instead after 5 hours he peed himself and then fell into it - They took another 30 mins to re-wash him and dry him - They returned my dog without his collar Feedback - Have an area where dogs can relieve themselves; If the mobile groomer can take the dog to pee then y'all can too - it's a baseline expectation - For old dogs that need specific care (as advertised on your website and by your frontdesk staff) the care should be noted with a dedicated provider such as the groomer or a dog handler/boarder that can oversee that dog's needs
They were able to get us in last minute due to a mix up I had with a different groomer. They did a great job and got him in and out which he appreciated! Definitely will be going back for Otis’s grooming needs:)
