New York Botanical Garden

We visited here from Colorado at the end of May for the Flower Power and Summer of Moomin special and were blown away by the variety of plants and exhibit creativity. We especially enjoyed the rainforest in the conservatory, but there is so much more to see! I would highly recommend a visit as it is a great way to spend a very relaxing and colorful afternoon. We bought tickets beforehand and had no wait. There is also a tram that you can take around the park if you do not or cannot walk a lot.

Soon as you go thru the gates it seems like you've magically stepped into a whole huge beautiful garden and left the bronx completely. The smells of the flowers come and invite you. The trees waved at you and the breeze often comes up to you ask may I take your coat? Everyone visiting and working are so friendly calm and peaceful and that's what the place encapsulates. The rock garden is nice and this is a great place for a date contrary to popular belief. Imagine having a great conversion getting to know someone with the beauty of the day as the background for your setting and the birds singing as your longue music? Now I would eat before you get there because the food cost airport prices. Also heads-up. You will be doing a good amount of walking bring comfortable shoes there's plenty of benches tho and they do have some tour carts. Love this place. Free on Weds for NY residence if your from out of town get there between 9-10am that's the free window for you guys. Enjoy oh and of coarse great picture spot. Goes without saying

I love coming here for the different exhibitions. Even if you don't go to the exhibitions, there are trails and the native plants and other areas to look at. Sometimes I go with just ground admissions and find myself enjoying the walk for an hour. If you're going for the first time to this location with a friend with plans to see the exhibit, then plan for about an hour. Maybe definitely an extra hour or two more if you're going to walk and look around since there are tons of other things to see. You should definitely wear sneakers and take pictures of anything you like!!

Hoy tuve la oportunidad de visitar New York Botanical Garden y sinceramente fue una experiencia preciosa de principio a fin. Desde que entras, el lugar transmite una paz increíble; es uno de esos sitios donde realmente puedes desconectar del ruido de la ciudad y simplemente disfrutar de la naturaleza, las flores y el ambiente. La entrada cuesta alrededor de 35 dólares, y honestamente vale la pena, especialmente por todo lo que incluye. Incluso tienen un pequeño tren que recorre distintas áreas del jardín, algo que nos encantó porque permite conocer mucho más del lugar sin cansarte demasiado. Si vives en Nueva York y disfrutas estar rodeado de naturaleza, flores y tranquilidad, definitivamente recomendaría considerar el pase anual de 100 dólares, porque es un sitio al que fácilmente querrías volver muchas veces. Llegamos con bastante hambre y encontramos una cafetería dentro del jardín que nos sorprendió muchísimo. La pizza estaba riquísima, recién hecha y con muchísimo sabor. También tenían una gran variedad de bebidas y snacks, perfecto para hacer una pausa y seguir recorriendo el lugar con calma. Uno de mis espacios favoritos fue el vivero de orquídeas. Era simplemente espectacular, lleno de colores, aromas y flores impresionantes. Todo estaba tan bien cuidado que parecía sacado de una película. Además, tienen una tienda hermosa donde puedes comprar plantas, flores, souvenirs y pequeños regalos; honestamente dan ganas de llevarse todo. Algo que también me encantó y me pareció admirable es que cuentan con una escuela de botánica, lo que hace que el lugar no solo sea hermoso visualmente, sino también educativo. Se nota muchísimo el amor y el conocimiento que hay detrás del cuidado de cada espacio. Además, producen su propio compost, algo que me pareció increíble porque demuestra el compromiso real que tienen con la sostenibilidad y el cuidado del medio ambiente. El jardín completo es perfecto para sesiones de fotos, pasar una tarde tranquila, hacer picnic o simplemente sentarte a escuchar los pájaros mientras disfrutas el olor de las flores. Cada rincón tiene algo especial y visualmente es un lugar mágico. Definitivamente fue una experiencia que repetiría sin pensarlo. Un lugar hermoso, relajante y lleno de vida en medio de Nueva York.

New York Botanical Garden will always hold a special place in my heart. I was raised in the Bronx, and as a teenager I even had the opportunity to work here, so coming back always brings back a lot of memories. There’s something peaceful and timeless about this place. The grounds are beautiful, well maintained, and no matter what season you visit, there’s always something special to see. For me, it’s more than just a botanical garden, it’s a place connected to my roots, growth, and a lot of meaningful moments in my life. If you’re from the Bronx, you know places like this become part of your story. Definitely worth visiting, whether it’s your first time or you’re coming back for the memories.

Absolutely amazing. The grounds are so well maintained. Because it's a botanical garden the scenery changes with the seasons. The special exhibits are indeed special and worth taking time to appreciate and enjoy. I think a membership is a worthwhile investment as it encourages you to visit often and it supports a beautiful part of the area.

I went on a group tour. Learned about the rise of LSD. The staff was lovely, super cheerful to explain whatever you need. The exhibits were gorgeous and the gift shop was reasonably priced Got a succulent for 8 And a moonin Lego set for 14 The yarn tree made by a local artist was stunning and bright, very on theme with the peace movement of the 60s. It's a nice place to go for a good walk and pics. Not only that but the cafe for food is a solid meal. Prices not bad and the food was actually pretty good for a cafe within a confined area.
