We recently hosted our son Ace's 3rd birthday party at the McWane Science Center in Birmingham, and I cannot recommend this place enough! If you are thinking about booking a party or just planning a family day trip, do yourself a favor and book it right now. There is so much hands-on, engaging, and genuinely cool stuff to do that it is easily more than a whole day’s worth of fun. The kids were completely locked in and living their best lives, and honestly, the adults had just as much fun as the toddlers. The facilities are fantastic, the staff was wonderful, and it was the perfect, high-energy environment for a milestone celebration. We will definitely be back. Run, don't walk, go book your visit!

My grandchildren: 6, 4 and 20 months old, loved this museum! We were visiting from Virginia and NC and looking for entertainment during Thanksgiving weekend. We found it here! The kids didnt want to leave after 3 hours! There was a car you could work on like a mechanic, a restaurant to serve patrons, a huge playground, and stingrays to pet. But, after visiting all 3 floors, the adults were ready to go home. We would definitely return when we come back to Birmingham!

We love the McWane Center! Great for kids and toddlers- young children have a full playstation! Great for a day out! Offers IMAX Theatre as well. It is a must see! Cool fossils found in Alabama as well. Trust me, you will enjoy it just as much as the kids!

My soon to be 4yr old spent 4 hours at this amazing science center. He LOVEDDDDD itty bitty city. Such a great science center and so glad we traveled from Atlanta to visit.

My kids had so much fun! There were tons of interesting activities that were entertaining even as an adult. Although there's a bit of a controversy with the long armed Appalachisaurus (sp?)

Awesome place for kids, we have a 2 year old and an 11 year old and they both loved it. Immerse activities on different floors, play area for the smaller one and lego "Brickcity" for the bigger one. On top of it you get to see marine life and touch stingrays if they seem up to you. Awesome IMAX documentary within the dome theater. All in all great experience.

We have a 3 month old and a 3 year old. The Itty Bitty Magic City play area on the 2nd floor is worth a membership alone. It has a nursery where my wife can feed the baby while the toddler can read books and play with toys. The play area is huge and there's tons of things for the toddler to play with that are safe and encourage creativity in a shared space. A couple of visits will basically make the membership much more cost-efficient on top of the free parking you get. My wife now has a safe, social, and almost as important, cooled indoor space where she can get out of the house by herself during the heat and weather of the summer and let the toddler have fun and burn some energy.

This place was awesome! My five year old loved the indoor playground on the 2nd floor. It has so many interactive activities, we could have been there all day long!
