Saint Mary Catholic Cathedral

It was beautiful. It was very refreshing to see a young priest preaching, I can tell he’s very educated and prepared his sermon well ahead of time. It made me cry, it was very emotional. The choir’s singer had the voice of an angel and the soft piano keys were like a massage to my brain. The only thing I do want to point out is that the gift shop was not affordable at all, I like to get my mom souvenirs from churches I visit and the only rosary that had the St Mary Cathedral name on it was $36 which seemed too much in my opinion. If you’re visiting soon, make sure you make it there early as it was full for the 9:30am mass.

The staff here was so welcoming and jumped right in to help me get set up with everything I needed. It is amazing how much you can get for free with a card, especially since they have so many digital resources and new books. This little spot is a great find if you want to save money and still have plenty to read or watch.

As this day draws near...it's end, what a beautiful day it was, and the ending is....as uplifting and so magical....I want to share. At 61 yrs old, disabled from PTSD and Atrial Fibrilation mostly and the Ladybird Apts have kept me in a Foreboding and Trauma Filled existence. I have managed to fight for My Rights which have been denied since...... October 11, 2023. I decided to use a different name to hide from DMA Co. The property managemen. Oct 11, 12 and 13th of October 23...they were definitely with intent defrauding so many tenants in this 55- Up complex....people started getting legal help. I did not need help because: I've been disabled from bening Stalked: 3 times. Twice by corrupt and hateful managers. This fight has been 2 years on the 11th and more crimes committed than anyone could imagine. They are trying to throw me in the streets for being determined and not be Victimized Anymore. This evening while walking back... I met a black man named Adrian. Early 50's and we had such a a positive conversation...it had me on the trail.... happy and smiling. As I near the complex I look about 50 feet ahead and there was this white guy in jeans, flipflops, had a nice button down shirt l....from behind all I was thinking is: I have not personally been impressed by anyone walking.... Besides him. Some one once said to me: excuse, Sir: whatever it is...You have! This dude had such a Cool ness, in his walk....as I passed him, I convey with conviction: I said: Excuse me but, bro...from behind... You are killing that walk. Get this...now he's a couple steps behind me. He was humbled and Wrap Your Mind Around This: he was equally handsome & when he smiled to thank me...😲.🤭, It was a mic dropping moment! His beauty was, or is from the inside; out....Deserving Of The Gift... GOD gave. This is him in 2 pictures one blown up. If anyone may knows him: let him know...I wrote about how. Church is really pretty..We weren’t able to go inside,it was closed but you can see the inside through a glass wall..Music was playing even though it was closed.

Nice parish in Austin. Beautiful cathedral. 9:30 mass includes mix of Latin and English with old style organ and hymns. Parking is a little tricky in the city and the place was packed, so arrive early.

Always such a wonderful experience being able to attend Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral, downtown Austin! The service is sacred, the music is wonderful. Very engaged parish, mostly locals, who care about that area of the city. Even non-Catholics enjoy this venue, it’s a beautiful, special place. Highly recommend you visit!

I scheduled confession from 510 to 515 today. Was a few minutes late for a short slot and the priest had already left and staff were unwilling to help. I told them I just need a few minutes and I cant take the host otherwise and they said cant help you. I feel like this church is like other churches - salvation of souls is secondary to showmanship. I just moved so im looking for a new parish asap - this place wont be it and im glad I never donated or participated and wont. Ironically the priest went on the pulpit and mentioned the importance of confession and reconciliation but funny how this church really doesn't provide it to parishioners. All words and virtue signaling coming short in practice.
