Absolutely blown away by Faheem’s Biryani in Leeds. This is hands down one of the most authentic Hyderabadi biryanis I’ve had in the UK. The rice is perfectly cooked, each grain separate and fragrant, and the spices are rich without being overpowering. The meat is incredibly tender and full of flavour, clearly marinated well and cooked with care. Portion sizes are generous and great value for money, and you can really taste the traditional dum cooking style in every bite. If you enjoy proper, bold, spicy food, this place does not disappoint. It’s not about fancy interiors here — it’s all about the food, and they absolutely nail it. A must-visit for any biryani lover in Leeds. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Faheems Hyderabadi Dum Biryani truly stands out as one of the best places for authentic biryani. The aroma itself tells you it’s going to be special, and the taste absolutely lives up to it. The rice is perfectly cooked, each grain separate and full of flavor, while the meat is tender, juicy, and well-marinated. You can really tell they follow the traditional dum cooking method, which makes a huge difference. The spice level is well balanced—not too overpowering but still rich and satisfying. The portion sizes are generous and definitely worth the price. Overall, an amazing experience and a must-try for anyone who loves real Hyderabadi biryani. I’ll definitely be coming back again!
Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally stopped by yesterday, literally on the way back from the airport after a trip. They offered a complimentary shot of milky spiced tea when we arrived, which absolutely hit the spot after over a week away. We ordered two Dum Biryanis to take away (one chicken, one lamb). They smelled incredible and tasted just as good. A bit too spicy for me but perfect for my husband. They came with a warm red sauce (curry?) and a raita(?) that was thinner than usual, but I actually liked it that way. Looks like the biryani rice and various meats are cooked separately, then lamb/chicken/veg etc added to your order depending on what you've chosen. Different to what I’ve had before, but no complaints, it worked really well and service is very quick. First proper Hyderabadi biryani I’ve had since 2015 and it didn’t disappoint. We’ll definitely be back to try the mandi and a few other dishes next time.
I am absolutely appaled at the food I received from this place. I placed an order online and received the food around 40 minutes later. The food was stone cold and did not taste fresh at all. I mean, I didn't expect it to be freshly made at 10pm at night but I expected better. The lamb was absolutely chewy, the sauces provided just tasted like it was mixed with 85% water. The biryani i ordered, lamb biryani to be precise, was completely tasteless and all you could taste was cloves. The amount of cloves I found was diabolical. This should be called 'clove biryani' instead of lamb biryani. There were also only 4 pieces of meat in the biryani which no one ate anyway because of the toughness. We initially ordered 2 portions but this all went in the bin because of how vile it tasted. I will never ever be ordering biryani from here again and can only reccomend people to go somewhere else to get biryani that doesn't just taste of cloves. I was so upset. It was my husbands birthday. He gipped and nearly vomited because of the smell of the cloves in the biryani. Your chef needs retraining. You do not need to use a million pieces of cloves for such a small out of biryani. I am asian myself, so I know how biryani should taste....this is not it. Absolute trash. Would not reccomend. Go purchase 'authentic' cloveless biryani elsewhere. Maybe go to shimlas down the road.
Faheems Biryani offers an excellent Hyderabad-style biryani (at this price) at a very reasonable price, making it one of the best value options in the area. For £7, you get a generous portion of flavorful rice and tender chicken, complemented by a complimentary chai and friendly service. The convenience of nearby parking at Tesco and the availability of eat-in make it a practical choice for a quick, satisfying meal. While the overall experience is positive, there's room for improvement in the hygiene standards of the washing or bathroom facilities. Nonetheless, it remains a cost-effective and authentic option for biryani lovers.
Simply wonderful, not for a minute it felt like I was in the UK. I was in the streets of Hyderabad - the very same taste, same aromas and even the same texture of food. Together with the super nice n pleasant demeanor of the owner n his friends n family it was bliss. Will definitely come again :)
Tasty Biryanis & Warm Service! We recently got a takeaway from Faheem’s Hyderabadi Dum Biryani in Leeds, and overall, it was a really satisfying experience! We tried a mix of veg, chicken, and lamb biryanis, along with some extras like paneer 65 and bread halwa. The biryanis were absolutely delicious – full of authentic Hyderabadi flavour and perfectly cooked. The chicken biryani stood out for me, while my friends who had the lamb biryani also had great things to say about it. The veg biryani was well-balanced too – not too spicy, not too bland. I also tried the bread halwa, and I must say, I loved how it wasn’t overly sugary – just the right amount of sweetness and a lovely texture. A nice touch after a spicy meal! The paneer 65, unfortunately, didn’t hit the mark for me – it was a bit too fried and quite oily, so I had to skip that. But everything else more than made up for it. Service was great – the person at the counter was really friendly, and I liked how the shop had a TV screen showing how the food is cooked, which was a nice behind-the-scenes touch. There’s even an ATM inside in case you need cash, and a small parking space for about three cars while waiting for your order. Overall, definitely recommend Faheem’s for their biryanis and warm service. I’ll be back again soon – just might skip the paneer next time!
Visited Faheem's biryani yesterday and tried chicken biryani on his recommendation. It was good. Better than many. On the bone. Slight improvement in taste can be done, hence 4 stars. Otherwise, it was much better than many places I have tried before. Parking is available infront of the shop, across the road and nearby shops. Make sure you read the parking signs displayed. Most of them are free and have no problems. Good place to try for food and not very expensive.
