GAIL's Bakery Notting Hill

Visiting from America, I really wanted to try a scone with jam and cream. It was really delicious, but the portion size was small. The croissant, on the other hand, was big and filling. The lattes did not disappoint. We visited after browsing Portobello Road Market, and it was the perfect spot for a late breakfast. A surprising fact I learned about London is that cafes and restaurants charge more for eating in as compared to taking out. The two different prices are listed, which I found strange, but I now realize this is normal British practice.

I visited GAIL's Bakery and really enjoyed it. The bakery has a warm, inviting atmosphere, and the aroma of fresh bread and pastries hits you as soon as you walk in. Everything I tried—from the crusty sourdough to the delicate pastries—was baked to perfection, with great flavour and texture. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience even more pleasant. It’s a perfect spot for breakfast, a coffee break, or picking up fresh baked goods to take home. Definitely a must-visit for anyone in the area.

Lovely little bakery! Delicious sandwiches and great coffee, all at very reasonable prices. The yoghurt with oats is absolutely delicious and worth trying. The place itself is cute and cosy, with a few tables downstairs and a visible cooking area that adds to the charm. The WC downstairs could do with a bit of renovation, but it’s perfectly fine.

Great place for an amazing pain au chocolat. The coffee was decent, not excellent.

Delicious cinnamon bun and great filter coffee. Place is nice and cozy, staff are nice.

Finally, a Gail’s with lots of cinnamon buns! It’s clearly one of the most popular items and too often I pop into a Gail’s in different places later in the afternoon only to hear they’ve run out.

Food ams coffee are nice , service could be improved, like cleaning the tables after customers leave

I ordered egg and toast with cappuccino which came up to 14 pounds. I recommend just getting one of the pastries.
